LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jamie Foxx has been hospitalized for about three weeks now, but there is no information about his "medical complication." The Academy Award-winning actor, 55, was rushed to hospital on April 11 in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was filming the action-comedy ‘Back In Action’ with Cameron Diaz. Now, the prolonged mystery behind his illness has spawned conspiracy theories.

Foxx was reportedly listed as a high-profile witness in the trial of Fugees rapper Pras Michel who allegedly conspired to funnel money from a Malaysian government fund to finance Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign. Leonardo DiCaprio, Foxx's co-star in Django Unchained, has already testified that Michel's co-conspirator Low Taek Jho — a Malaysian businessman accused of stealing billions from state fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad — told him about his intention to donate upward of $20 million to the Democratic Party. Now, conspiracy theorists are wondering whether Foxx was the target of an assassination before he could testify in court.

According to Forbes, Michel is accused of conspiring with Jho and faces charges of money laundering, campaign finance violations, acting as an unregistered agent for foreign nationals, witness tampering, and lying to banks.

According to prosecutors, Michel received more than $100 million from Jho and participated in two illegal schemes. One of them was to enlist attendees for a fundraising dinner for Obama and later reimburse them using $40,000 of the foreign money on the condition they would not tell the authorities. Another scheme was to lobby officials in the Trump administration to drop an investigation into Jho. Michel, however, has pleaded not guilty and his lawyers told reporters that he was only a passionate Obama supporter who didn't intend to break any laws.

DiCaprio, who wasn't accused of any wrongdoing, testified in court last month about his relationship with Jho, who allegedly used overseas funds to finance director Martin Scorsese’s 2013 film, 'The Wolf of Wall Street', which starred the actor.

The 'Titanic' star told the court that his relationship with the Malaysian tycoon was purely social initially. They had met at a number of parties, including Jho's lavish birthday bash in Las Vegas around 2010. At some point, Jho told DiCaprio that he intended to donate upward of $20 million to the Democratic Party. It was also reported that Michel's trial could include other high-profile witness testimonies as prosecutors listed Jamie Foxx, Mark Wahlberg, and Scorsese as potential witnesses.

'They were literally trying to kill Jamie Foxx'

Conspiracy theorists questioned the timing of Foxx's "serious medical episode" and his imminent testimony in court, with some insisting he was the possible target of an assassination. "I hope Jamie Foxx recovers so he can testify against Barack Obama for CCP money laundering just like Leonardo DiCaprio did after he named Foxx in his testimony. Django 2 is already a classic," one tweeted.

"I am not sure if many people are aware of this but they were literally trying to kill Jamie Foxx because he was willing to testify especially something concerning about Obama. The reason his family keeps it quiet from the media is because they are at risk," another alleged.

"It's been reported that Jamie Foxx had a stroke He was also set to be a witness in the Leonardo DiCaprio case against the rapper Pras, who was an informant and apparently laundered millions in stolen CCP cash to Obama in 2012 The same year DiCaprio and Foxx starred in Django," a comment read. "Coincidence? Jamie Foxx was announced as a witness in the trial of Pras Michel in laundering millions of dollars to Obama's presidential campaign. Jamie Foxx mysteriously went to the hospital days after his name was announced," someone else chimed in.

"The timing of the Jamie Foxx stroke is very interesting. With him being a witness in this case which could implicate Obama for taking CCP money, makes you wonder if he did indeed suffer a stroke. What's really going on behind the scenes?" another speculated.
