LONDON, UK: Cameron Diaz is unlikely to return to Hollywood after struggling with long workdays that have kept her apart from her husband Benji Madden, and their three-year-old daughter, Raddix. Diaz retired from her Hollywood career in 2018 but was lured back by her close friend Jamie Foxx to star in the action comedy 'Back In Action'.

However, her comeback project started making headlines this month, when it was reported that Foxx had a 'meltdown' on the UK set of the movie, which led to the firing of three people. A source close to Diaz revealed to the Daily Mail that, while she does not have any issues with Foxx, she likely won't return to the world of film after wrapping the project.

'Cameron loves being a mom'

The insider further stated, "These back-to-back 10-hour workdays have been a lot on her, and she hates being away from Raddix. Cameron loves being a mom more than anything in the world. She hates drama and confrontation. This is why she retired from the business in the first place. She has already proven herself in the industry and has nothing left to prove to anyone."

Previously, Diaz retired from Hollywood in 2018 to spend more time with her husband Benji, 44. They welcomed their daughter in December 2019 and have been incredibly private about their lives as parents. According to the insider as cited by the outlet, while Benji has been incredibly supportive of his wife's decision to come out of retirement, the decision has taken a toll on him.

'Nothing left to prove'

"At one point, Cameron was the highest paid actress in Hollywood, earning $20 million a movie - and an insider says she feels as though she has 'nothing left to prove,'" the report added. Since announcing her retirement, Diaz has turned her hand to other ventures, including creating her own wine brand, Avaline, which she launched with business partner Katherine Powers during the height of the pandemic in 2020.

Diaz wants to focus on being a full-time mom

The report further mentioned, "Cameron has gotten extremely involved in Avaline and was pivotal in its creation. Avaline has grown exponentially, and it is something that Cameron is very, very proud of." Diaz wants to focus on being a full-time mom to her daughter while also pouring much of her energy into her wine business.

Although she had no real plans to return to the spotlight, the end of her retirement was announced by Foxx on his Twitter account in June 2022. During a conversation with Diaz, Foxx dialed in Tom Brady, 45, who unretired from football in 2020. Diaz made a point to say how nervous she was about making an announcement. "I'm so anxious right now, I'm pacing the room... I don't know how to do this, you know?" she said.
