Jamal Edwards died of 'sudden illness', reveals mom Brenda as she pays tribute to 'beautiful son'

On Sunday, February 20, the news of the 31-year old YouTuber Jamal Edwards suddenly passing away surfaced. His heartbroken mom Brenda confirmed the tragic news. She issued a statement, after tributes had poured in online, to confirm her son died of a "sudden illness" The exact nature is yet to be determined.

Her statement was exclusively released to 'Good Morning Britian'. The message from Edwards' mother was relayed by host Susanna Reid.

The complete statement read: "It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness. Myself, his sister Tanish and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated. He was the centre of our world. As we come to terms with his passing​ we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss. I would like to thank everyone for their message of love and support. Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many. Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on. Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD."



 

Chelsea Football Club also honored the YouTuber and music entrepreneur's memory and called him an "inspiration to many" The club stated how proud they were to have Jamal as part of "the Chelsea family"

Under the statement, fans and followers shared their opinion. While one said, "Why you still going on about this .. can’t you just let the family be .. even getting emotional in your voice .. just let them grieve as a family." while another added, "Heard last night, absolutely devastated for @brenda_edwards and her family. Jamal was part of so many life's and will be a great loss. Sending my deepest condolences to her and her family. Jamal Edwards MBE. RIP"
