The police in their investigation found that there was nothing unusual or suspicious about the social media personality's death and there is no concern for foul play. Upon his death, Huey had 450,000 subscribers on YouTube and over 300,00 followers on Instagram. His deactivated TikTok account had 258,000 followers.

Before committing suicide, Huey who appeared to be struggling with mental health issues, tweeted, "F**k life" before deactivating his Twitter account. A month before his death, he also posted a short video titled 'When you bipolar' that documented him living with the bipolar disorder condition. After the news of his death was confirmed, some fans speculated whether Huey was in fact suffering from depression. One tweeted, "That goes to show you NEVER know what’s going on in someone’s mind." "Be kind and be caring towards your friends or even strangers. You’ll never know what their breaking point is," wrote another.

Huey had also opened up about his time growing up in Stockton, California for the ShotBy Manzo YouTube channel. He spoke about a tough upbringing in a house with four sisters and a brother where there was "no food, no nothing". Huey revealed in another video he posted in 2021 that he would keep going to school to escape from his home environment and to get fed. He also said when he was 13, he went into foster care but was kicked out of two families he stayed with for smoking marijuana. When asked what his mother did about it, Huey said, "She was getting beaten up too."

Huey speaking about spending most of his time outside his home with friends said, "My homies ... [were] always taking care of me and letting me sleepover at their houses." "I don't know where I'd be without the homies for real." Huey also added that school has kept him going. "[Going to school] was me getting my morning breakfast. You know what I'm saying? Like the pizza with the cheese sticks and the milk bread ... like that's what kept me going."

Huey continued by saying he had never confronted his mother over the alleged abuse he suffered at the hands of her boyfriend. "I'm not close to my family at all that's why now I try to be so family orientated," he said. "With my mom ... we can yell at each other but it's not like we can talk. She's kind of foreign, she knows English but she just be acting dumb. She likes to push it off, like no matter what we say, she doesn't listen," he further said.

Huey's followers, close friends, and girlfriend Heather Saizon, who is the mom of his two-year-old daughter Princess continue to mourn his death. Although Saizon's Instagram is set to private, her bio reads, "Huey Ha always in my heart." The comedian's friends launched a GoFundMe campaign after his death to cover funeral costs and provide support to his daughter.
