Jack Antonoff, lead singer of the indie-pop band Bleachers is playing mind games with fans as he continuously teases  new song. The 'Rollercoaster' singer has been posting a string of teasers on Twitter every Saturday for a song that seemingly has something to do with "Saturday night" and "sadness." His initial tweet, dating back to August 9, the Bleachers frontman wrote, "Take the sadness out of saturday night."

Since then, Antonoff has been altering the wording just a tad with tweets like, "Please take the sadness out of saturday night" and "Just take the sadness out of saturday night" and "Oh c’mon and take the sadness out of saturday night."

After that, the tweets that followed point to possible lyrics from the song: "I’m still on your side" and "I’m always holding your love supreme." Antonoff then wrote in his latest teaser during the late hours of September 19. "If we take the sadness out of saturday night i wonder what we’ll be left with.... anything worth a fight?"

As expected, the insistent teasing has left fans feeling anxious to hear new Bleachers music. "NOT AGAIN JACK," said a fan in all caps while another wrote, "What's it gonna take? do we have to phonebank you? send you postcards? Start a pointless online petition? you name it i'll organize it but i'm so tired of this the depression is here and if we get to next week without the song or the album im gonna accept that it's never coming."

Most of the fans have expressed their eagerness with comments like, "PLEASE RELEASE THIS ALREADY" and "RELEASE IT I DARE U" and "RELEASE IT OR IM INTERVENING." Another said: "You can just dm me the unlisted video i promise i wont share it with anyone other than the squad bc you know i can't hide things from my homies but please just send it over man i'm tired of this it's almost october and my head hurts i'll send you my brookie recipe ! anything pls."

Whatever the case may be, fans can hold on to the promise that new material is imminent. In early August, the singer posted a vague "soon" on his Twitter account. Regarding a new album, Antonoff has also confirmed that one is in the works. In January, Antonoff assured followers that a new Bleachers record is underway with a previous tweet, "I’m putting out a bleachers album this year."

The new LP follows the band's sophomore album 'Gone Now' which released three years ago, so fans have been patient for its long-awaited follow-up. Although, as a secret-weapon producer, Antonoff has had a busy year, working on and co-writing Taylor Swift's surprise new album 'Folklore'. Additionally, he has worked on Carly Rae Jepson's singles 'This Love Isn't Crazy' and 'Comeback' (featuring Bleachers). Antonoff also co-wrote and produced Sia's new song 'Together'. One of his other big projects for 2020 include the album 'Gaslighter' for The Chicks, seeing the group making a comeback after 14 years, so Antonoff has certainly had his hands full.

As far as his own band's music, the teasing will hopefully come to an end soon.
