'Bruce Wayne right there': Internet wants Jensen Ackles to play Batman after George Clooney return debunked

Many fans agreed that Jensen Ackles' physical attributes, acting prowess and background in the superhero genre made him the ideal choice

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Playing 'Batman' is not exactly a walk in the park as many actors have played the caped crusader in the past to both acclaim and disappointment. Some of the most noteworthy "Batmen" being George Clooney, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck and Robert Pattinson. Fans have now actively been lobbying on social media for Jensen Ackles to be cast as the superhero. They agreed that Ackles' physical attributes, acting prowess and background in the superhero genre made him the ideal choice for the role through their tweets.

Despite some criticism regarding his age, Ackles is a viable contender for the role of the Dark Knight because of his popularity, loyal fan base, award-winning acting abilities and prior experience in the genre. The 'Supernatural' actor's fans decided to become more vocal ever since DC CEO James Gunn confirmed that Clooney would not be reprising his role as the winged avenger, despite rumors that stated otherwise.

'It could work'

Fans took to Twitter to express their desire to see Ackles as Batman and their tweets have gained significant traction. A user wrote on Twitter, “It could work since he already voices Batman in animation. So it would be less work to find an actor that can do both live action and voice work for the animated projects and games.” 

“This could be true. James Gunn wanted someone who would play batman in live action and voice batman in games and animated series, Jensen Ackles is currently voicing Batman in the animated series and games,” another added. Someone noted, “My king needs to be at least considered.” “He's a little on the short side but he'd absolutely kill it as Batman. He voices him in the new animated series and his bat voice is on par with Conroy. Give him a haircut and stubble, that's your Bruce Wayne right there,” yet another user remarked. 

George Clooney return rumors debunked

The reactions intensified after Gunn confirmed on social media that Clooney will not be DCU's Batman. This A fan asked, “Is it true you are casting George Clooney as the main DCU Batman?” Gunn responded with, “Absolutely not.” 

Several users reacted, as a person wrote, “It's time,” while posting a picture of Ackles. However, several still believed thay Clooney may have a role in there somewhere as a person tweeted, “I mean, he only debunked if he was the main DCU batman but didn't debunk if he would still make a cameo.”
