SAN FRANSICO, CALIFORNIA: The Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry recently sent the internet into meltdown with an unbelievable video of him scoring five full-court shots in a row. But the incredible video sadly turned out to be fake.

In a video, posted by Sports Illustrated on Sunday, December 05, the two-time MVP is can be seen extending his range to the full court and knocking down five makes in a row at the Warriors’ practice facility. The video soon went viral and garnered more than 10 million views in just a span of a few hours. Curry too shared the video on his Instagram stories with simple eye emojis. The internet naturally went berserk at the sight and sparked a debate about whether the video was fake.

However, after a few hours of speculation, the verdict came out when Janie McCauley of the Associated Press confirmed that the video was fake. “Not real, per the Warriors. Looked amazing and fun, for sure," McCauley wrote on his Twitter handle while re-sharing Curry’s staged video. Later it was also revealed that the video was created by magician editor, Ari Fararooy, who even produced Tom Brady’s hole-in-one video in May this year. The director advertises on Twitter that he creates stylized “work for brands, celebrities, and events.”

The video of the star came out just days after the Warriors registered a 120-101 victory over the Rockets. During the clash, Curry’s boys made 25 3-pointers, just four shy of tying Milwaukee's NBA record. Out of these 25 3-pointers, eight were made by the star player, Curry. Now, the Warriors are standing on top as the first team to reach 400 made 3s for the season.

Given what the 34-year-old superstar has done in past it was easy for the fans to get fooled. Curry, who has one of his best statistical seasons in 2022-23, once scored 105 consecutive shots from beyond the arc during practice. And surprisingly the act was confirmed by McCauley himself. "Curry finally missed, then pumped his arms and yelled in delight," McCauley wrote while appreciating Curry’s unimaginable prowess.

Regarded as one of the GOAT of the game, he's notched up three NBA titles, two MVPs, six All-Star Game selections, and three All-NBA First-Team nod. This season, Curry has registered 30.8 points, 7.1 assists, and 6.7 rebounds per game on 51 percent shooting from the field, 44.1 percent from the 3-point line, and 91.3 percent at the free throw line. In a recent CBS Sports report, Curry clinched the 16th in the highest-paid celebrity list with $74.4 million, just below Dwayne Johnson ($87.5 million).
