'Love Is Blind' star Kwame Appiah accused of using dating shows for clout after being spotted on 'MAFS'
PORTLAND, OREGON: Is he searching for romance...or fame and fortune? Kwame Appiah from 'Love Is Blind' Season 4 has received a lot of attention in the last week, but one astute viewer appears to have spotted him elsewhere. Though we recognized the sales development manager and former soccer player from other endeavors, we didn't associate him with this reality relationship show.
It's no secret that some reality dating show participants are there for the wrong reasons. What about reality marriage shows? From 'Love Is Blind' to 'Married at First Sight,' the stakes are exponentially greater — especially when the words "I do" are involved. And most individuals in these spouse-centric shows only get one chance to discover their other half. That is not always the case, however. Kwame, the Season 4 star of 'Love Is Blind,' was recently glimpsed on another program searching for a wife. Did he appear on 'Married at First Sight'? We've got the inside information!

From 'MAFS' to 'Love Is Blind': Kwame's quest to find a wife
'Love Is Blind' actor Kwame can be seen in the backdrop of an episode of the American 'Married at First Sight' as part of a group in a few TikTok and Twitter clips. He appears to be sitting at the end of a congregation, but other clips suggest he was in a scene from the show when the group was all together.
On Thursday, March 30, a Twitter user zoomed in on what appears to be a Kwame appearance on 'Married At First Sight' Season 10. When he cuts to a close-up of the audience applauding a joyful bride and groom, it appears that Kwame is among those taking part in the wedding festivities. Is it possible...or is this a doppelgänger? Kwame's only "performance" title on IMDB is 'Love Is Blind', so this could theoretically go either way.
It's unclear whether he was on the program looking for a wedding (again) or if he was just friends and family of someone else taking part. A fast, thorough dive reveals that he's following Mike Watson, a groom from that 'MAFS' season. Season 10 of the program was recorded in Washington, DC. in 2019.
'Confirming he’s a phony'
Many people are still trying to wrap their minds around this strange crossover after seeing the segments. "To be fair, MAFS and Love Is Blind are produced by the same company, so they probably take people who don’t make it through one audition and consider them for the other show," one user surmised. "It makes sense they reached out to MAFS people they liked who didn’t get matched to be on LIB," another said. Accusing him of running after fame, a fan wrote, "That why his mom was acting like that. He is just trying to be famous. He gonna be on love after lockup next watch!!" One viewer went on him to call him phony, "His fake laugh has been irking me after I watched his shenanigans in the last 2 episodes So thank you for your double service 1. Confirming he’s a phony 2. Replacing his fake laugh in my head with yours."

Is Kwame's stint on reality series making his mum say no to his marriage to Chelsea?
Kwame and Chelsea Griffin, the recently engaged pair on 'Love Is Blind,' found themselves in a love triangle a la Zack Goytowski, Irina Solomonova, and Bliss Poureetezadi. Though he originally plans to propose to Micah Lussier, Kwame eventually proposes to Chelsea, and fans exploded in outrage when he and Micah had a less-than-friendly relationship when they met in person.
On March 31, viewers saw another obstacle in the road for Chelsea and Kwame in the second set of episodes released by Netflix. When it came to breaking the news to each other's families, Chelsea's father wholeheartedly supported their choice. Kwame, on the other hand, was not so lucky. Kwame's mother was furious when he told her the news. She stated that she did not believe in the experiment and that she did not expect anything like this from her son.
Is Kwame's use of TV dating shows to find a life companion causing his mother to not accept his relationship with Chelsea? Tune into Netflix to catch the all-new episodes of 'Love Is Blind' Season 4. New episodes drop every Friday.
