Is Kwame Appiah's mother happy with his relationship?

Kwame did not get the chance to talk to his mother about Chelsea, but after meeting his partner's father, Kwame decided to call his mother and tell her everything. However, Kwame admitted before calling his mother that he was not sure how she would reacted to his wedding. Kwame told his mother, "So I wanted to just let you know that I did find someone in the experiment. Her name is Chelsea. And, um, you know, I did take the step forward and ask her for her hand in marriage."

The reality star further continued, "And so, I wanted to kind of just take a chance to tell you about that experience and where l am." However, it seemed like things did not go as planned as he was heard asking her, "You're mad?" Kwame appreciated his mother's honesty as she said, "It's a tough situation for a mom to walk into things like this."

Kwame later admitted to Chelsea that his mother was a massive part of his life. He said, "As a mother, as someone who you know, would expect more from me. I didn't do the right thing." His mother believed he did not use his head, while he admitted that his mother was unhappy with his decision. However, it appears that Kwame and Chelsea's wedding is on track for now. He told his mother, "You have to understand that the decisions that I've made for myself in life have been good ones. I accepted all the failures in order to find the successes."

How did Chelsea Griffin's father react?

While Kwame's mother did accept his relationship, Chelsea's father was happy. As soon as Chelsea shared the news about her engagement, her father gushed, "I'm so happy for you, honey." However, the reality star's father did express his concern over the distance and said, "You're in Portland. You're in Seattle. How's that gonna work?" However, Chelsea assured her father that everything would be fine as their plan was to stay in Seattle together. Chelsea's father looked excited and said, "It's a lot of variables, a lot of work. But life is too short. And it's better to be shared."
