Dua Lipa appeared on ‘Saturday Night Live’ as the last musical guest for 2020 and her sizzling performance has sparked quite a few rumors on the Internet. Along with performing ‘Don’t Start Now’ and ‘Levitating’, the London born pop star also put up quite a show for a special SNL skit. In the skit, Dua appeared as Marjorie, prompting fans to ask, if she was promoting Taylor Swift’s latest released album ‘Evermore’?

After the episode aired, the ‘One Kiss’ crooner shared a snippet of her skit on Twitter. Since then, fans have been going bonkers with their theories, asking the 25-year-old Grammy-winning singer if a collab with Swift is on the table. Watch the clip here

Dua who has recently nabbed six nominations for Grammy 2021, performed from her latest hit album, ‘Future Nostalgia’. She kicked off the show with Grammy-nominated ‘Don’t Start Now’ donning a Leopard print dress. For ‘Levitating’, she chose a jellyfish attire which the fans believe to be ‘Ponyo’, a Japanese anime-inspired theme.

In the special skit, Dua as Marjorie appeared in a beige uniform and performed a bit which only looked like a confrontation scene of an ‘affair’. Was that a Taylor Swift’s 'Illicit Affair' reference? Fans are now certain a Dua Lipa x Taylor Swift collab is underway with all the Easter eggs dropped on the skit. A fan theorized, “SNL had dua lipa play someone named marjorie in 1944 and now just described the show teacher as “an illicit affair” taylor stans are writing this.” Some fans believe that the tweet was Dua Lipa’s hint for the fans to indicate a new remix of Taylor Swift’s ‘Marjorie’ from ‘Evermore’ is coming soon. A fan wrote, “MARJORIE REMIX IS COMING SO TRUE BESTIE.” Another said, “MARJORIE !!!!!  @taylorswift13 @DUALIPA  a collab Easter egg maybe ????” An excited fan shared, “DUA LIPA’S CHARACTER’S NAME IS MARJORIE TAYLOR COLLAB CONFIRMED.”

Swift and Dua have been friends for a while now where the duo never misses a chance to appreciate each other. In a Wired video, Dua shared, ‘I love Taylor, we have met a couple of times, she is an amazing one, what an incredible artist.” Dua also once took to Instagram to share a story of Swift sending her a unique bouquet of flowers. While the reason for sending flowers was not confirmed, fans have loved the iconic singers’ interaction and sweet gestures towards each other. Swift has released her latest album ‘Evermore’ earlier in December as a surprise to her fans prior to her 31st birthday. Both Swift and Dua are nominated for multiple categories for Grammy 2021.
