HYBE shares strategies to minimize the impact of an artist's absence

HYBE had earlier explained their strategy to minimize the impact of a K-pop group's absence when they enlist. It said, "To prepare for the risk of artist interruption due to military enlistment, disease, accident, etc., we are continuing to increase the proportion of indirect participation-type sales that do not involve direct artist activities such as MD and licensing sales, and video content sales. In order to minimize the risk of reduction in sales due to the scheduled gap of artists, we are conducting business reviews in various fields such as pre-production of contents such as albums and videos, and flexible artist management through active members."

In March 2021, BTS made history by becoming the first-ever South Korean group to perform at the Grammys. The group, known for its record list of achievements through the years also snagged the Global Recording Artist of the Year title from IFPI for the year 2020. Deemed as the biggest music group in the world right now, they will release their next Japanese album 'BTS, The Best' in June as fans awaits yet another new record to be set with the project.

BTS ARMY has reacted to the news of the possibility of BTS enlisting in 2022 saying, they are not 'ready'. A fan posted, "If it bts going military together next year..I don't know i'm ready or not..But 2022 is my last semester.I'm gonna focus on studying..Hope i can find work after diploma and saving money for concert until their comeback." Another ARMY said, "I think it's a good idea for them to go to the military together to lessen the impact of their absence. But for sure, while inside the military, BTS will be tapped by their units to promote good causes. So their absence will not be felt at all!"
