PULLMAN, WASHINGTON: The unsealed search warrant for the apartment of Bryan Kohberger, the suspect behind the murders of four University of Idaho students has revealed key details. Cops seized two cuttings from an uncased pillow with a “reddish/brown stain,” one “nitrite type black glove,” eight possible hair strands, a possible animal hair strand and other evidence, including possible blood stains. However, the knife used to stab Ethan Chapin, 20, Xana Kernodle, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, is not among the items found, according to the unsealed document. This has left netizens wondering if the authorities are ever going to find the murder weapon.

Taking it to Reddit, one poster remarked, "I don’t think there was any chance of him keeping the knife and clothing/shoes he wore at the scene. He absolutely destroyed and dumped them somewhere they’ll probably never be found." Another said, "The guy had SIX weeks to dispose of the knife (and anything else he wore/used at the scene)—and likely did so within 24 hours of the murders. Anyone who thought they’d actually find ”the” knife at his residence (or anywhere else, at this point) isn’t thinking very clearly."

While another questioned, "This is it? I mean any one of these items could make him "dead to rights" for a prosecutor home run (especially if any DNA matches the victims, or any items were taken from the victim's home)." The DNA of Kohberger was found on a knife sheath at the crime scene, after investigators found trash in the suspect's family home in Albrightsville, Pennsylvania, on December 27, 2022, and sent the evidence to the Idaho State Lab for examination, as perviously reported by MEAWW. It was a tan leather knife sheath with 'Ka-Bar,' 'USMC,' and the United States Marine Corps eagle globe and anchor insignia stamped on the outside. The knife sheath was on the bed next to Mogen.

Detailing another possibility, a Redditor wrote, "I have a feeling that BK [Bryan Kohberger] hid the knife under or between the mattress in order to dispose of it later - which be possibly did." Another post read, "I wonder how long until we learn of the items seized from his car."
