MOSCOW, IDAHO: The DNA of Bryan Kohberger, the accused in the Idaho murders, was found on a knife sheath left at the scene by the killer. It was a tan leather knife sheath with "Ka-Bar," "USMC," and the United States Marine Corps eagle globe and anchor insignia stamped on the outside. The knife was on the bed next to Madison Mogen, who had visible stab wounds. This information was released in an affidavit filed by Moscow, Idaho Police Cpl.
According to the affidavit, investigators found trash in the Kohberger family's home in Albrightsville, Pennsylvania, on December 27 and sent the evidence to the Idaho State Lab for examination. The next day, a DNA profile obtained from the trash was compared to the profile obtained from the sheath.

Discussing the topic, one user said on Reddit, " To throw off the investigators to think it was ex military...," another user simply said, "Because he's a moron." Another user called Kohberger a weirdo whose narcissism is off the charts and said, "He overestimated his intelligence. He failed. He didn't get away with it. He isn't smart"
The document also revealed that Kohberger was linked to the murders through his white Hyundai Elantra and through cellphone data. Kohberger's vehicle had been captured on surveillance footage driving from his home in Pullman, Washington state, to the King Road home around the time of the murders – and then back again, the documents stated.
The newly-released court documents also revealed bone chilling details about where the four victims’ bodies were found inside the bloodied three-story home and how one of the surviving roommates had a close encounter with the killer. According to Officer Brett Payne, Mogen and her best friend Kaylee Goncalves were both found stabbed to death together in Mogen’s single bed in her bedroom on the third floor. The bodies of the young couple. Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin were both found in Kernodle’s bedroom on the second floor of the property and Kernodle's body was found on the floor. The survivor, identified as DM in the documents, told investigators that she saw the masked killer leaving the home and overheard him telling his victims “I’m going to help you” before knifing them to death. she said she saw “a figure clad in black clothing and a mask that covered the person’s mouth and nose walking towards her”.
As she stood in a “frozen shock phase,” she said the man had “bushy eyebrows” and walked past her and towards the back sliding glass door of the home. The witness said that she then locked herself in her room.
The murder weapon is yet to be found.
