Kim Sejeong, commonly known as a former member of South Korean girl groups I.O.I and Gugudan, has just launched her very own online accounts. There are quite a few, so fans can enjoy their favorite singer in a never-before-seen way on various platforms. Off the back of her departure from girl group Gugudan, Sejeong is extending her solo online presence to various platforms, launched on February 8. Fans can catch the latest news, "fun stories" about the singer, and updates on her solo music on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Weibo, as well as streaming platforms V LIVE and YouTube.

Announcement

Sharing the announcement on her new Twitter, Sejeong posted an introductory video to the launch and greeted fans. In the half-minute clip, Sejeong promises that she will be uploading a lot of exciting content and encouraged fans to follow and subscribe. "Fun news and fun stories about me will be posted a lot on my official channels," she said, according to Soompi, adding, "so please follow, subscribe, and click ‘like’!" One of the accounts posted earlier is her YouTube channel which currently highlights her announcement video. There is much content to be enjoyed for time being as fans await new videos, however, with numerous videos of performances, cam clips and more. Hopping on to her Instagram, and the same introduction video can be seen, while she currently has over 6,000 followers at the time of writing this article. Her YouTube has nearly 7,000 subscribers. It's high time to pump up those numbers, stans.

Who is Kim Sejeong?

For those unacquainted with Sejeong, here's a quick introduction. Sejeong is a multi-talented South Korean singer who first stepped into the spotlight in 2012 when she participated in the second season of the competition television show 'K-pop Star' at the age of 16.

By 2016, she represented her label Jellyfish Entertainment on the reality survival show 'Produce 101' for the chance to debut in a Mnet girl group. Later that year, it was announced that she would become a member of the group I.O.I. That same year, Jellyfish was preparing for her debut in Gugudan who would debut later in 2018. 

After a year of hiatus as a singer, Kim released her solo single 'Tunnel' with Dingo Music in 2019. It was followed by the release of her solo debut EP 'Plant' along with its self-titled lead single, which arrived in March, 2020. A rising solo artist, Sejeong has released a number of singles while her only full record is 'Plant'. Of her latest projects, she released a digital single 'Whale' in August 2020 and she made a soundtrack appearance for the tvN drama 'Record of Youth' with the track 'What My Heart Says', released in October 13, 2020. Gugudan officially disbanded on December 31, 2020.

Sejeong is also an actress, who was recently tapped for a starring role on the popular Netflix series, 'The Uncanny Counter'.
