'I just don't like you': Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson takes a dig at John Cena in WWE Rivals throwback video
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: WWE Rivals is back with a fresh episode! It renews the rivalry between two legends Dwayne ‘The Rock Johnson and John Cena. In a sneak peek released by A&E, the two can be seen going head-to-head against each other as they exchange fire in the ring. "Two faces of their generation! Two icons in their prime!" the clip starts with an announcer's voice over some archival WWE footage. "Two of the greatest wrestling superstars EVER, going head-to-head."
‘The Rock’ was the most cherished name of WWE in the ‘90s before he made a big move to Hollywood. That was the time when John Cena was stepping up the throttle and filling in the shoes of his predecessor. The latter took several digs at Dwayne Johnson in front of the camera and otherwise. In one of his statements, the 45-year-old said 'The Rock' hadn't been in a ring in 8 years and was "questioning whether or not 'The Rock' even cares about the business," one of the experts can be heard in the sneak peek.

In their built-up to Wrestlemania match, ‘The Rock' said, "This is what happens when idiots have confidence. [He’s] popping off at the mouth.” During another BTS clip which seems like he’s in a mid-interview, the 50-year-old said, "My size 15 boot right up John Cena's candy a**. I mean it's really gonna be a beautiful thing. The ‘Marine’ actor later talked about the match saying, "He came out swinging, I came out swinging. It was as real as you can imagine." However, in the recent years, Cena had only nice things to say about his former rival. Cena made a comeback in 2021 to the ring and hoped that ‘The Rock’ will do the same one day. Interestingly, 'The Rock' came to host Wrestlemania 27, reports People.
'He is the most electrifying man in sports entertainment'
"He's earned the right not to be pressured into that choice. I can say he is a fan of the WWE. He is the most electrifying man in sports entertainment." Cena said in an interview. "So as a fan, do I want to see one of the greatest performers of all time step back in the WWE ring? Yeah. But in no way am I gonna call him and if I'm gonna talk to him about something, it's not gonna try to be to get him back in the WWE ring."
