Vin Diesel who gets paid millions to play the role of Groot in Marvel's the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' franchise has bagged a series of his own - 'I am Groot'. Starring the 'Fast and the Furious' star as Groot, and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, 'I am Groot' is premiering on August 10, exclusively on Disney+.

Groot was introduced to fans back in 2014 when 'Guardians of the Galaxy' (starring Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, and Zoe Saldana) was released. Groot is a Flora colossus from Planet X, the capital of the branch worlds. The Flora colossi are tree-like beings whose language is almost impossible to understand due to the stiffness of their larynxes, causing their speech to sound like they are repeating the phrase 'I am Groot'. Other beings try to be friendly but become angry with the Flora colossi for not being able to speak. Among the other releases of Marvel series, it is known that 'I am Groot' will be of short episodes.

'I am Groot': Release date, plot details and all you need to know about Baby Groot live-action series

It has been revealed in the comic series that the Flora colossi had been abducting organisms from other planets, including a young human girl named Hannah. After seeing Hannah, Groot realized that what his people were doing was wrong, and managed to save the child and send her back to Earth. However, for his disobedience, Groot was exiled from Planet X and forced to wander the universe until he met Rocket Raccoon many decades later; Groot later became a member of the 'Guardians of the Galaxy'.

In 2014's 'Guardians of the Galaxy', it is shown that Groot and Rocket met Gamora and Starlord in Kyln where they also met Drax the Destroyer. There they agreed to work together to escape and sell the Orb for a massive profit. However, when it was discovered that the Orb contained one of the Infinity Stones which was being sought out by Ronan the Accuser, Groot convinced his friends to risk everything to stop Ronan's diabolical plans. During the Battle of Xandar, Groot sacrificed his own life to save his new friends. However, part of his destroyed body was planted by Rocket to birth a new Groot.

In 2017's 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2', audiences see Baby Groot. The character began growing from a sapling at the end of the first film, with James Gunn intending for him to be fully grown by the sequel. Gunn eventually decided to keep him as "Baby Groot", which was one of the reasons the film is set only a few months after the first. Gunn described Baby Groot as the son of Groot from the first film.

In 'Avenger's Infinity war', released in 2018, both Groot and Rocket leave the Guardians temporarily to accompany Thor to Nidavellir in order to help his mission to stop Thanos from completing the Infinity Gauntlet. After they had helped Thor obtain his weapon, Stormbreaker, Groot and Rocket traveled to Earth using the Bifrost Bridge and joined the Battle of Wakanda. Groot fought alongside Captain America and attempted to attack Thanos; however, when the crazy titan amassed all six of the Infinity Stones, he succeeded in eliminating fifty percent of the universe's population, which also resulted in Groot's death.

In 2019's 'Avengers: Endgame,' the Avengers managed to resurrect the victims of the Snap, restoring Groot. Alongside Winter Soldier, he left Wakanda through an Inter-Dimensional Portal and joined the Battle of Earth. In the aftermath of the battle, Groot attended Tony Stark's funeral as well and rejoined the Guardians, now including Thor, on their adventures. Groot and the Guardians worked with Thor on several missions, but they went their separate ways after the Battle of Indigarr in order to protect worlds that had lost their gods to Gorr the God Butcher.

But 'I am Groot' is one of the sequel to the 'Guardian of the Galaxy' franchise, where each short episode will follow Baby Groot as he grows up in the galaxy, goes on adventures with new and unusual characters that get him into trouble.
