How long will Treasure have 10 members? K-pop fans miss Mashiho and Yedam

While Treasure has 12 members, Mashiho and Yedam are on a hiatus for the rest of the year

Fans have been wondering how long will Treasure continue to promote as a 10-member group after Yedam and Mashiho went on an undefinite hiatus. The Internet was first moved when K-pop label YG Entertainment shared that they had allowed the two artists to go on hiatus for personal reasons. Yedam wanted to concentrate on his music studies to become a better artist while Japanese member Mashiho wanted to spend more time with his family in Japan. Unfortunately, the aftermath was messy as YG excluded the two Treasure members from group content.

Treasure is a 12-member boy group that debuted under YG Entertainment in August 2020. But due to Yedam and Mashiho’s hiatus, the rookie group is currently active with 10 members and are set to release a new album, have a Japanese arena tour and a Korean concert for their second debut anniversary. While fans were disappointed that Yedam and Mashiho would not be able to join, they were angry that YG had edited out the boys from past content that they re-uploaded in June. The label has belatedly released a statement now on July 13 regarding the status of Treasure.

Treasure to continue as 10 members till the end of 2022

With Mashiho and Yedam constantly sharing in the past that they wanted to have tours and concerts, fans rallied behind them and asked YG to wait or delay the tours till the two could rejoin Treasure. OT12 fans were upset that the label was simply erasing the two members from the boy group. Well, in a new statement YG apologized for the situation and finally revealed how long the hiatus would be.

They shared, “Treasure had been conducting activities as a 10-member group due to personal and health reasons, and it has been decided that the group will continue to do so until their comeback this summer and concert tour scheduled until the end of year.” According to YG’s statement, Mashiho and Yedam will tentatively rejoin Treasure in late 2022 or early 2023. They also apologized for the hiatus, “Although we are facing internal difficulties and we understand how fans are upset, the remaining 10 members are exerting all-out efforts for their upcoming activities not to make fans feel the absence of the other two members.”

‘Don’t treat them like that’

Fans have taken to sending supportive messages to the group as they made tweets like, “We will stay together forever.” Another was sad, “‘Nah nothing makes me sad anymore’ Mashiho's dream to have a world tour with treasure.” One fan shared that they were not upset about the hiatus but the erasure, “It’s not about the hiatus, we can understand it, but removing them from contents, not mentioning them & acting like mashidam are not part of treasure doesn’t sit right with me. if they’re still treasure members, just on hiatus, please don’t treat them like that.”

Another said, “I know we are all sad atm but let's have faith in our boys. Like the announcement said, the other 10 are working extra hard to fill in the 2 members' void. Let's also pray for Mashiho and Yedam's well being and peace. Just 5 more months teumes. We will get OT12 soon.” One fan was hopeful, “So basically Mashiho and Yedam will come back maybe early 2023 😭Teume let's support the other members no matter what and don't forget that treasure is ot12.” Another made a reaction meme, “Me pretending not to care about mashiho and yedam hiatus so they comes back to us faster.”
