How did Michael Kopsa die? Canadian voice actor and 'X-Files' star dead at 66
VANCOUVER, CANADA: Michael Kopsa, 66, a veteran Canadian voice actor best known for his roles on 'The X-Files', 'Smallville', and 'Stargate SG-1', died on Sunday, October 23, due to brain tumour, according to a post shared by his ex-wife Lucia Frangione on Tuesday via Twitter, reported People.
"The great Michael Kopsa, my dear friend and the father of my child, Nora, passed away Oct 23 2022 of a brain tumour," she wrote. "He was an incredible stage and screen actor, voice actor, carpenter, musician and painter. Most importantly, he was a loving and richly present father," Lucia added.

Kopsa was a popular character in genre TV shows like 'Fringe', 'The Net', 'Dead Zone', and 'The Sentinel' that were filmed in Vancouver or Toronto. After relocating to Vancouver in 1994, he also portrayed General Kerrigan on 'Stargate SG-1'. “Stargate employed just about every actor in Vancouver I think at one time or another. We are all going to wait for our turn. We are competing as always,” Kopsa told the Gate World website on the military science fiction adventure television series in 2009.
Kopsa, who was born on January 22, 1956, in Toronto, spent four years in New York before moving to the United States to pursue acting at the Circle in the Square Theatre School. He later relocated back to Canada where he finished his studies at the University of Toronto for a degree in arts and sciences.
He appeared in several Hallmark films, including 'It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas', 'Valentine in the Vineyard', 'Marrying Father Christmas', 'Love in Winterland'.
Hallmark Channel offered their tribute to Kopsa through an Instagram post they shared on Monday, October 26, with his photograph and wrote, "A friend and colleague to many, today we honor the legacy of Michael Kopska. Always in our hearts ❤️."
Before landing roles in films like 'Fantastic Four', 'Apollo 18', 'Love Happens', and 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes', Kopsa had his first major feature film role in 1985's 'Timing'. He did voices for 'Mobile Suit Gundam', the Galaxy Angel anime series, 'Ninjago', 'Alien Racers', and 'Princess Castle'.
Kopsa amassed over 227 acting credits during the course of his career.
