'Home Game': Release date, plot, trailer and all you need to know about Netflix's docuseries on traditional sports
Netflix has been pushing out some quality sports content during the lockdown. From 'Formula 1: Drive to Survive' and 'The Last Dance' to 'Athlete A' and 'A Life of Speed: The Juan Manuel Fangio Story', there has been some gripping series that the streamer has rolled out in the last few months.
Adding to that roster is 'Home Game', a scintillating docuseries that provides a look at some of the unique traditional sports from around the world. Comprising eight episodes, the series in its opening season takes viewers on a journey that sees them learn about some of the lesser-known sports across the globe. While they may not have made it to the Olympics, that hasn't stopped them from being intense and thoroughly enjoyable. Here's what we know so far about 'Home Game'.

Plot
The official logline reads: "From voodoo wrestling in the Congo to roller derby in Texas, this eight-episode documentary series explores unusual and thrilling sports traditions around the world." According to Entertainment, the series showcases sports such as Indian wrestling, and Congo's Catch Fétiche — amateur wrestling mixed with voodoo rituals and ancient spiritual beliefs. The Highland Games and Roller Derby get some in-depth explanation as well along with player interviews who speak candidly on the sport.
In its review, the site says "A title worthy of your time" and this should give sports fans something to watch during the weekend. The synopsis says: "This docuseries profiles unique and dangerous traditional sports from around the world, as well as the communities and cultures where they thrive."
