'Awkward': Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield booed at NTAs as fans wonder if they cut in line again
WEMBLEY, LONDON: Fans at the National Television Awards booed Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as they accepted the Best Daytime award for 'This Morning'. When they were announced as the winners on stage, some people in the NTA crowd yelled them down loudly.
Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, the two primary presenters of the show, were both accused last month of cutting the line to visit Queen Elizabeth II lying in state. As he collected a National Television Award for 'This Morning', Phillip made an emotional appeal to the audience.

A source in the audience told The Sun, "The boos in the room were very loud when Holly and Phil were announced as the winners. It was really embarrassing."
"Linda Robson from Loose Women didn't clap either. It was all very awkward," the source added.
A teary-eyed Phillip said in his acceptance speech, "Don't think we ever get complacent and please don't think we ever take this for granted. This means so much to us every year, especially this year."
"We have the most amazing team. I have the best friend, we have the best boss," he added.
Holly said, "Thank you so much, this award means everything because it is voted by you, and I think This Morning has a very special relationship with you. You make our show for us, you really do."
"We are really appreciative for this honor. Honestly, I think This Morning is a mood", Alison Hammond stated as she approached the stage. She was also nominated in the presenter category.
She jokingly added, "I ain't going to lie but we all know I should have won one of these as well. Bradley Walsh, Graham Norton and the legends that are Ant and Dec are amazing, but let's be honest, I should have won one but This Morning won one anyways."
Presenters Holly and Phil sparked controversy last month when they allegedly refused to stand in line with the general public to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II. In a voiceover over video of their time at the Abbey, a hurt Holly remarked, "Please know we would never skip a queue."
The statement, however, did nothing to quell the uproar. Someone wrote on Twitter, "They were meant to collect their award second from last but queue jumped"

Eamonn Holmes, a former 'This Morning' anchor who is married to Ruth Langsford, the host of 'Loose Women', was one of their harshest detractors, calling them "lies" on television.
