Meghan and Harry 'stabbed the heart' of Queen as they revealed details of conversation to Gayle King, says anchor

British TV presenter Phillip Schofield slammed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on Wednesday, March 17, for divulging details of “private conversations” with Prince Charles and Prince William to Gayle King. King had earlier disclosed that Harry’s conversation with the royal family was “not productive” after the pair revealed some shocking details about their life in the UK during Oprah Winfrey’s interview.

Venting his anger over the Sussexes, Schofield said, “The thing is there’s been an enormous amount of sympathy over the race issue, the mental health issue. But looking at the polls that are being done at the moment, that sympathy seems to be ebbing away quite quickly. There is this feeling that you’ve made your point, essentially shut up now and get on with your quiet American life. You stabbed a knife to the heart of the monarch of which there were some things they felt needed to be highlighted. Fair enough but stop now.”

English writer, Gyles Brandreth, who was the guest speaker on ‘This Morning’ also gave his input and said: “Miss King is clearly Meghan’s new megaphone. Far from quietly solving problems behind the closed doors within the family, picking up the phone and talking privately. You can’t risk talking privately because Meghan wants to spread the word. This will go on and on and on until we are little old people. You’ll be elderly folk and this drama will still be playing out before our eyes.”

Schofield agreed with Brandreth, adding, “Either that is the most indiscrete friend on the planet or she has been told by them that she can go on American TV and brief against the royal family and the British press once more.” TV presenter Beverley Turner also joined the duo and noted, “I suspect it’s the latter Phil. Meghan Markle has a record of doing this talking to friends. We saw in the interview one of her big drivers, ‘I want everyone to say nice things about me all the time.’ That was her main complaint to the royal family when she talks about, ‘I want you to protect me.’ It was partly chronically latterly about security but at the beginning of her relationships with the royals it was, ‘Protect me from people saying mean things about me in the press.’”

“That’s largely been her complaint so she’s going to be one of those people I think who is just never going to be happy because the press is never going to say nothing but nice things about her. That was always going to be the way when she joined the royal family and it feels like she can’t resist getting these messages out there. It must be incredibly frustrating for the royal family who has said they want to deal with behind close doors. I hope the royal family will hold their line and will remain dignified in this. I don’t want them to respond,” Turner added.

On March 16, King said on 'CBS This Morning', “Well, I'm not trying to break news, but I did actually call them to see how they were feeling, and it's true, Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father too. The word I was given was that those conversations were not productive. But they are glad that they have at least started a conversation.” She also stated that the family members did not talk to Meghan. “No one in the royal family has talked to Meghan yet, at this particular time. I think it's frustrating for them to see that it's a racial conversation about the royal family when all they wanted all along was for the royals to intervene and tell the press to stop with the unfair, inaccurate, false stories that definitely have a racial slant," the 66-year-old broadcast journalist added.
