It’s not every day that you get to have an award-winning cast, narrating stories and wonders about the planet. In the difficult times as we are currently in, it has become more important to remind us and our future generations, what it takes to live on this beautiful planet we call home. The upcoming animated short film, based on the New York Times best-selling book by Oliver Jeffers, aims to drive the message of seeing planet Earth with a completely fresh perspective through the eyes of a child. The colorfully illustrated book is known to be a rare and personal look into the dream and hopes for the future generations on this planet and the movie aims to walk us through the same with the ultimate impact of audiovisual effects and wonderful narratives by Meryl Streep.

‘Here We Are: Notes for Living on Earth’ is set to premiere on April 17, exclusively on Apple TV+.
Plot
The animated short explores the curiosity of a bright young, 7-year-old boy, who is keen to know about the planet Earth and how it works, what it takes to be here, and so on. On Earth Day, he visits the Museum of Everything and finds a mysterious exhibit which takes him through the wonders of the world and its surroundings and leaves him in awe of its diversity and expansiveness.
Cast
The ensemble voice cast of ‘Here We Are: Notes for Living on Earth’ includes renowned and award-winning actors like Meryl Streep, Chris O’Dowd, Jacob Tremblay and Ruth Negga.
Streep features as the main narrator of the insightful and poignant story. The actress is often described as the best actress of her generation and is known for her versatility and accent adaptation. She has a record nomination of 21 Academy Awards (winning three), 31 Golden Globe Awards (winning eight). She has also won three Primetime Emmy Awards and has been nominated for 15 British Academy Film Awards. She was seen on HBO's ' Big Little Lies'.
Tremblay voices the seven-year-old, curious child. He made his film debut as Blue in the live-action animated film The Smurfs 2 (2013). His breakout performance was in the dark drama Room (2015), for which he received critical acclaim. He has also starred in the horror films Before I Wake (2016), Shut In (2016), and the bigger-budget The Predator (2018), played in the drama Burn Your Maps (2016) with Vera Farmiga, and headlined the blockbuster novel adaptation Wonder (2017), as Auggie Pullman.
The voices of the parents are contributed by O’Dowd and Negga, respectively.

‘Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth’ is based on the New York Times Best Seller penned by artist, illustrator and writer, Oliver Jeffers. The 36-minute, animated short is written by BAFTA Award-winning Philip Hunt and Academy Award-winning Luke Matheny, and is directed by Hunt himself. Sue Goffe, Phillip Hunt, and Oliver Jeffers serve as executive producers.
