'Helstrom': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about this hellish Marvel series

The new series follows Daimon and Ana Helstrom as they keep the world safe from all that would terrorize humanity

After years of rumors, reports and rumblings, the first trailer for 'Helstrom' has finally clawed its way up from the depths of hell. Teasing a family mystery and a dark past, the trailer and synopsis feature a brother-sister duo that take on the most demonic forces there are invading the Earth, using their unique skills and shared history to keep the darkness at bay. We have the release date, plot details, trailer, casting announcements and everything else you need to know about Hulu's hellish new Marvel series.

Release date

All episodes of 'Helstrom' will release on Hulu on October 16.

Plot

According to the official synopsis released by Hulu, "Daimon and Ana Helstrom are the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer in Marvel’s Helstrom. The siblings have a complicated dynamic as they track down the terrorizing worst of humanity - each with their attitude and skills." There's also a synopsis for the first episode that's revealed, which reads: "Daimon Helstrom investigates a possessed young boy in Oregon. Meanwhile, in San Francisco, Ana Helstrom stages an auction to expose a criminal. Disturbing events at St Teresa's cause concern as the siblings estranged Mother remains hospitalized." 

Daimon and Ana Helstrom have been Marvel Comics mainstays for decades now, going by the Son of Satan and Satanna, respectively. The pair have flit back and forth across the line dividing the good guys from the bad, as their hellish nature and infernal parentage have always come back to haunt them.

Tom Austen

Tom Austen plays Daimon Helstrom, who in the comics was known as the Son of Satan. This is not Austen's first brush with a comics' property, as he voices Tim Drake on the 'Batman: Arkham VR' video game. He is also known for his roles on 'The Royals,' 'Grantchester' and 'Unforgotten.'

Sydney Lemmon

Sydney Lemmon plays Ana Helstrom, known as Satanna in the comics. She made her Broadway debut alongside Uma Thurman in 'The Parisian Woman' in 2018. Since then, she has acted in several film and television projects such as 'Fear the Walking Dead', 'Acting for a Cause' and 'Plain Fiction.' The show also stars Ariana Guerra as Gabriella Rosetti, June Carryl as Dr Louise Hastings, Alain Uy as Chris Yen, Robert Wisdom as Caretaker and Elizabeth Marvel as Victoria Helstrom, the siblings' mother.

Trailer

Hulu released a trailer for the series during Comic-Con@Home on July 24, with the tagline, "The world isn’t ready for a Helstrom family reunion." You can watch the trailer below.
