MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: British singer Harry Styles welcomed his audience to the first performance of his ‘Love On Tour: Madison Square Garden Is Harry's House’ tour, saying, "This is our 10th show at Madison Square Garden, it is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful to be back in New York. I just popped very quickly to Venice to spit on Chris Pine but fret not, we’re back!” Audience members shouted and clapped for the musician as he grabbed onto his guitar after his statements.

Styles is supposedly seen in a now-viral video with the 'Don't Worry Darling' co-stars at the Venice Film Festival premiere, spitting on Pine's lap, according to fans who haven't stopped talking about it. There have been mixed reactions on Twitter to the viral video, with some suggesting there was no spit while others argue that Styles was being crafty in deception. The singer-turned-actor, 28, was seen in the clip occupying the seat next to Pine, who was seated with director Olivia Wilde on the other side. Pine, 42, halted mid-clap and smiled into his lap before giggling to himself as the ‘Late Night Talking’ singer appeared to aim his saliva towards him. While waving to spectators behind them, Styles, for his part, avoided making eye contact with the ‘Wonder Woman' star in the footage. Styles can also be seen avoiding eye contact with Pine, who smiled in bemusement.

The hypotheses were instantly refuted by Pine's representatives, who labeled the rumors as ridiculous. “This is a ridiculous story — a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation,” his representatives informed People magazine. “Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine. There is nothing but respect between these two men, and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist," the full statement read.

Fans have been eager to learn more about the 'spitgate' while also closely following the suspected conflict between Florence Pugh, the film's actress, and Wilde. Many thought Pugh had a problem with Wilde and Styles' relationship since she skipped numerous opportunities to post on social media about the production while also promoting other prospective parts.
