Spoilers for 'Harley Quinn' Season 2, Episode 10 - 'Dye Hard'

When this season began, Harley Quinn's (Kaley Cuoco) crew was as tight-knit as ever. Even without her leadership, the team worked together for months to rescue her from the block of ice that the Injustice League placed her in. But Harley's been neglecting them ever since, and combined with some of her more reckless decisions, some major consequences came to pass this episode. Her crew will never be the same again and Harley could have done a lot more to stop this happening.

A dissatisfied Doctor Psycho (Tony Hale) has had enough of being an underling to someone who isn't willing to go all the way in her career. Doctor Psycho has obviously been harboring a lot of resentment. Where he was once an A-level villain, going up solo against the likes of Wonder Woman herself, he's now a henchman to a woman who's more focused on her love life than she is about her career as a supervillain. Harley abandoning her Parademon army -- the acquiring of which was Psycho's own plan -- was the last straw. Psycho has left the team in a permanent way, teaming up with the Riddler (Jim Nash), whose escape might have been prevented if Harley had been watching him a little more closely.

Already a powerful threat, Psycho now is in possession of a helmet that boosts his abilities, allowing him to take over the city's entire Parademon army, and through them, possibly take over the world. Psycho has made no secret of his love for violence and mayhem, and with the power he now controls, he might be a greater threat to New New Gotham than the entire Injustice League ever was. Making things worse, escaping his clutches cost the life of another member of Harley's crew -- Sy Borgman (Jason Alexander). He is the only one who could resist Psycho's psychic manipulations due to the metal plate in his head. In a touching moment of self-sacrifice, he calls on his reserve powers, and his heritage, to self-destruct, buying Harley and her team just enough time to escape Psycho in a borrowed Batplane.

It's a low point for Harley -- whatever mistakes she's made in the past have usually only hurt herself. In her rise to super-villainy, however, she grew close to and became responsible for more than just herself. Her crew was an important part of her growth, but she neglected her responsibilities towards taking care of them. While Psycho's actions are inexcusable, the situation might have been averted if Harley had been keeping an eye on things. The Parademon army, at the very least, is something that she could have tried harder to fix, but instead, she devoted a lot of time and effort to Poison Ivy's bachelorette party.

This low point has led Harley to make another difficult decision, but she's acting more on impulse than she is laying things out. Bringing the Joker (Alan Tudyk) back may temporarily fix her problems, but in the long run, it's going to lead to more difficulties than it solves. Harley's a long way from learning from her own mistakes and she's running out of allies, fast.

The next episode of 'Harley Quinn' airs June 12, on DC Universe.
