Halsey teases music video for 'Be Kind' with aesthetic flyer, excited fans say 'this looks like a fairy tale'
Halsey fans have a reason to rejoice as the artiste is all set to drop an official music video for her new single 'Be Kind' on Saturday, June 27. Halsey took to Instagram to tease the release with an aesthetic flyer. "Be Kind w @marshmellomusic VIDEO tomorrow 🌼," the 25-year-old star wrote alongside the flyer, which features a pink-haired Halsey striking a dramatic pose in front of a colorful 'Wizard of Oz'-style fantasy backdrop. One of the other clues to the possible theme of the upcoming video is the inclusion of floral imagery on the cover art which features the 'Be Kind' title between a daisy (note Halsey's daisy emoji in the caption as well). For fans who indulge in the deeper meanings of the clues, the daisy is a symbol of innocence and purity while some also say it symbolizes new beginnings or love.
Halsey released the 'Be Kind' single on May 1, via Joytime Collective, Astralwerks, and Capitol Records. The dreamy and emotional mid-tempo EDM song is a collaboration with EDM producer and DJ, Marshmello. The duo originally teased the track in April through their social media. Fans on Twitter are having a meltdown over the upcoming music video with a multitude of comments in all caps. "YES CANT WAIT QUEEN OMFG I LOVE THIS SONG," wrote a fan while another exclaimed, "SO EXCITED FOR THIS!" Another fan remarked, "Finally that song is so good." Besides praising the song, fans also shared appreciation for the stunning aesthetics of the poster. A fan wrote, "You are the prettiest person alive period i love you so much," while another chimed in, saying, "Bby u look so pretty and graceful!!" Meanwhile, another fan asked, "Are y’all gonna release merch (lookin at ur shirt ma’am)." Other comments included, "This looks like a fairy tale" and "PERIOD. WE ARE HERE FOR THE AESTHETIC (sic)."
Halsey's message to "be kind" can be backed up by her history of supporting causes and charities. In 2017, after taking part in a Women’s March with Evan Rachel Wood, Halsey donated a whopping $100,000 to Planned Parenthood, which provides healthcare to people nationwide (including critical reproductive health care). Last year, Halsey, who has been open about periods of homelessness she has experienced in the past, was honored by the LA homeless youth organization My Friend’s Place. She also purchased 100,000 protective masks for frontline workers in four overwhelmed Los Angeles hospitals in April this year. The 'Without Me' singer has also been actively engaged in protests for the Black Lives Matter movement, following the death of George Floyd.
