'Heaven has another angel': Halle Berry pens heartfelt tribute to her 'John Wick' co-star Lance Reddick
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A talented musician and an actor, Lance Reddick's death left many across the world heartbroken. He was known for his roles as Cedric Daniels on 'The Wire' and for playing Charon in the 'John Wick' franchise.
Among the many celebrities paying tributes to Reddick was Halle Berry, who shared screen space with him on the Keanu Reeves action flick. She shared a black and white photo of the late actor along with a moving tribute, on Saturday, March 18.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Berry wrote, "I send my heartfelt condolences to the family and all those who knew and loved Lance. I’ll never forget the huge smile and heartfelt hug Lance gave me as I walked on the set of John Wick for the first time. His kind, sweet energy lit up every room he was in and his heart was larger than anything in it! Heaven has another angel. You will be missed sweet friend!"
How did Lance Reddick die?
Reddick's representatives confirmed his death in a statement on Friday, March 17. The statement read, "Acclaimed actor Lance Reddick passed away suddenly this morning from natural causes. Lance was best known for his roles in The Wire, Bosch, Netflix's Resident Evil and the John Wick films," per PEOPLE.
The statement continued, "He is survived by his wife Stephanie Reddick and children Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick. Lance will be greatly missed. Please respect his family's privacy at this time."
Police dicovered Reddick's body in his home and while an investigation is underway, authorities believed he died of natural causes, per TMZ.
Riddick's wife, Stephanie, too posted a tribute to her husband on Instagram. It read, "Lance was taken from us far too soon. Thank you for all your overwhelming love, support and beautiful stories shared on these platforms over the last day. I see your messages and can't begin to express how grateful I am to have them. And to the thousands of Destiny players who played in special tribute to Lance, thank you. Lance loved you as much as he loved the game. A-listers pay their respects
Many celebrities were devastated by Riddick's death. Reddick, who played Charon in the 'John Wick' franchise, was in the middle of a press trip for 'John Wick 4' movie, which is set to release on March 24. He also contributed to the spin-off, 'Ballerina'.
Keanu Reeves and 'John Wick' director Chad Stahelski expressed their sorrow over Reddick's death and that they would dedicate the most recent sequel to him, per a joint statement obtained by PEOPLE. Actor Ian McShane reportedly said, "Total shock and disbelief. Lance was a wonderful human being and a wonderful colleague. My deepest condolences, peace and love to his wife, Stephanie, and all his family."
