LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Whenever a new superhero movie from Marvel comes out, fans get curious about two things: the introduction of new characters and the post-credits scene. The newest entrant from the production giant, titled ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,’ has finally made its way to the theatres and it’s everything that was hoped for. Director James Gunn has already made it clear that this will be the conclusion of this team’s story and has given them a befitting farewell. The movie primarily focuses on Rocket’s story and what he endured in the past.

Meanwhile, in the present, Rocket gets injured during a fight with Adam Warlock. The entire team gets together to save Rocket and embarks on a journey to fight the High Revolutionary, the entity responsible for making what Rocket is today. In their quest to find the key to save Rocket, the team is joined by Gamora who is now working with the Ravagers. After a lot of difficulties, they manage to find the key and save Rocket. In the end, they get together to fight the High Revolutionary and save a lot of people that are being held hostage in the villain’s ship.

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' Review: It's all about family in this immensely satisfying send-off

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' Ending Explained: What happened with the Guardians during final showdown?

The team saves everyone and when they reach Knowhere, Quill tells everyone that he is going to meet his family on Earth and will be away for a while. On the other hand, Mantis also leaves as she wants to do things on her own. As the movie ends on a bittersweet note, let’s take a look at what happened during the mid-credits scene and the post-credits scene.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ Mid-Credits Scene Explained

The mid-credits scene sees several characters hanging out together outside a new alien planet. We see Rocket, Adam Warlock, Kraglin, Cosmo the Spacedog, Groot, and the main little grey-haired girl from that group of kids the Guardians rescued at the end of the movie, talking about their favorite music and musicians. They are all wearing the ‘Guardians’ uniform and seem to be ready to fight against a large horde of some sort of space animals that are about to wreak havoc on the planet. The young girl asks Rocket if he feels bad about hurting them. Rocket replies that the people of this planet don’t have anyone to fight for them.

As of now, it seems they are the new ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ but we think that it might change.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ Post-Credits Explained

At the very end of the movie, we see Peter Quill meeting his family on Earth and the post-credits sequences see Peter and his grandfather enjoying breakfast together. In this funny sequence, we see them talking about chores and how Quill feels how silly it would be if he is made to mow the lawns. The newspaper reads, “Kevin Bacon’s tell-all about alien abduction.”

While we thought that it is the end of the road for Star-Lord, the biggest revelation comes at the very end when the film gets faded to black for the final time.

The card reads: The legendary Star-Lord will return.

This means the character might return in future Marvel movies, but it’s not yet clear if Chris Pratt will return or not.
