LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: There’s nothing worse than saying “goodbye” to someone or something that has been a part of your life for a very long time. Whether it is our favorite toy or favorite comic-book character, it always breaks our hearts to bid farewell to something that we loved so much. In 2019, fans were an emotional wreck when they had to bid adieu to some of the original cast members of the ‘Avengers’ franchise. Four years later, it’s time once again to say goodbye to one of the most fascinating groups of comic-book characters that have enthralled us on the big screen. Yes, we are talking about ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. The third movie in the franchise, titled ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,’ has finally been released in theatres and has everything that fans would have expected in the team’s last outing.

After the success of the first two films, many fans were eagerly awaiting the third entry in the series to see where the story and characters would go next. The sense of farewell looms large over the movie

The movie picks up right after the events of the second movie and sees the ‘Guardians’ trying to deal with new challenges. The entire team is now living on Knowhere, the giant planet made of a dead god’s head, and is running the place as leaders of a small community. But the movie primarily focuses on Rocket and how the entire team gets together to save him. It’s all about family and relationships this time around. Each character is exploring their own relationship with the group and with their own family. However, the sense of farewell looms large over the movie. Every scene seems to be giving the impression that this is the group’s last outing together and things won’t be the same ever again.

Relax! We won’t spoil the movie for you by getting into the specifics of the story, but let us be very clear in saying that this is one of the best Marvel movies ever produced.

Visually, ‘GOTG Vol. 3’ is absolutely stunning. The VFX brings to life the depths of space and the many colorful worlds the Guardians visit. Without any guesses, the action sequences are thrilling and the best part of those scenes is that every character gets their moment to shine and show why they are so important. Another thing that the movie manages to achieve is the balance between humor and heart. It effortlessly shifts between funny moments and emotional beats.

As far as acting is concerned, Chris Pratt’s charisma and comedic timing are on full display. In this movie, he gets a chance to bring depth and vulnerability to his character, making him more relatable. Meanwhile, Zoe Saldana is stunning as Gamora and continues her golden run in Hollywood. She is a force to be reckoned with in the film. Dave Bautista as Drax is undoubtedly one of the well-written characters in the franchise and delivers some of the film’s funniest moments. Also, he once again proves that he’s much more than just muscle.

Bradley Cooper is phenomenal as Rocket and gives a performance that is fiery and emotional. On the other hand, Vin Diesel’s ‘Groot’ continues to capture everyone’s hearts.

The supporting cast is as good as the main one, with Karen Gillan delivering one of her most extraordinary performances to date. Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Michael Rooker, Will Poulter, and Chukwudi Iwuji bring their own perspective and humor to the film.

The only thing that I didn’t like in the movie is how overstuffed it is. There are so many characters and plot lines in the film, some elements feel rushed or underdeveloped.

Is 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' worth watching?

All in all, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ is a satisfying end to a trilogy that has graced our screens for more than eight years. It’s undoubtedly one of the best movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A poignant exploration of family and what it means to be a part of a group that is ready to do anything for you.

A must-watch for all Marvel fans in general.

**** stars for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’.
