'Grey's Anatomy' Season 16: Will Owen be heartbroken to find Amelia pregnant with Link's baby?

Episode two of 'Grey's Anatomy' confirmed that Link was the father of Amelia's baby. How will Owen react when he finds out?

'Grey's Anatomy' had a major twist with Amelia Shepherd's (Caterina Scorsone) pregnancy in season 16. When the makers dropped the hint, fans couldn't help but wonder whether the baby's father was Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) or Link (Chris Carmack).

Episode two confirmed that Link was the father and he lent all his support to Amelia. The two confessed their fears to each other — especially because Amelia lost Baby Christopher in the past after he was born without a brain due to a genetic disorder.

In fact, Caterina even went on to tweet about the pregnancy, "Yeah, Amelia talking about Christopher brings up the big Private Practice feels."

The two readied themselves for the responsibility after a heart-to-heart chat, and she told him, "You and I, we are gonna make an amazing kid and I kinda want to meet him," to which he responded, "I think I want to meet him too."

It might come as a huge shock to Owen because he really wanted a kid when the two were in a relationship together. With Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) giving birth to his baby, it can already be seen how good Owen is with kids.

If he gets to know Amelia is happy about having a child now, he could be heartbroken. But, fans feel Link is much better for Amelia than Owen could ever have been.

"Amelia and Link are sooooooooo much better than Amelia and Owen ever were wow #greysanatomy," one fan wrote. "I love Link and Amelia together. I’m hoping they don’t throw Owen in the mix. I'm over him! #GreysAnatomy," one user wrote.

Another posted, "Amelia is my favorite character, her whole journey. I hope she sticks with the show untill the very end. Link is perfect for her thus far. Just imagine how Owen would have responded - he would have forced her to keep the baby. Also, I love the Sisters!"

"For the people who disagreed about Amelia and Owen never having been right for each other...well...do you see 'right' now? God I love Link. He's such a good actor!" another user wrote.

Expressing his delight for Amelia's new beginning, one fan wrote, "Dammit Link! Amelia remembering what it's like to have a supportive partner she didn't know how to react. And to think there are still some who want Owen for anyone."

Things seem to be working out between Owen and Teddy on the show too. If Owen accepts Amelia's happiness, it could finally usher in a new beginning for the two couples. Episode four of 'Grey's Anatomy' airs on Thursday, October 17 at 8 pm EST on ABC.
