Rock legends Grand Funk Railroad announce 40-date 2020 'Some Kind Of Wonderful Tour'
American hard rock legends Grand Funk Railroad will be continuing their 'Some Kind Of Wonderful Tour' in 2020. The '70s group has been pursuing their onstage passions performing on tours for fans ranging in the millions from 1996 to 2019 and the journey has not ended as 2020's 'Some Kind Of Wonderful Tour' will continue to reach both new and long-time fans.
Grand Funk is excited to announce that the 2020 tour will mark an astounding 51-year milestone. The extensive 40-date tour is named in honor of their 1975 Billboard smash hit 'Some Kind Of Wonderful' and will kick off in Lincoln, Rhode Island, on February 8.
Originating from Flint, Michigan, in 1969, the chart-topping rock 'n' roll powerhouse of the '70s is "Comin' to your town to help you party it down." Grand Funk has an impressive list of achievements such as 13 gold and 10 platinum records with record sales exceeding 25 million copies sold globally.
Known as "The American Band," the upbeat five-piece group Grand Funk Railroad includes original founding members Don Brewer (vocals and drums, writer and singer of the multi-million selling hit, 'We're An American Band') and bassist Mel Schacher, "The God of Thunder."
Singer Max Carl is a rock veteran from 38 Special. Carl wrote and sang 38 Special's biggest hit 'Second Chance' and was the co-founder of California's legendary R&B and soul group Jack Mack and the Heart Attack.
Brewer refers to Carl as "the best blue-eyed soul singer on the planet." Lead guitarist Bruce Kulick is best known for his 12 years with glam metal legends Kiss and has credits with Michael Bolton, Meatloaf and Billy Squier.
An important mention is that Kiss members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley were influenced early on by Grand Funk Railroad. Keyboardist Tim Cashion has a master's degree in music from the University of Miami. Affectionately called "Dr. Tim," his credits include stints with Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band and English soul man Robert Palmer.
