Grammys 2022: Olivia Rodrigo wins Best New Artist, fans call it 'the only correct outcome'
It sure does look like congratulations are in order. Singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo just bagged the Best New Artist award at the 2022 Grammy Awards being held in Las Vegas Nevada at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on April 3.
Rodrigo was presented the honorable award by the legendary Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion. She won the award for her recent debut studio album, titled 'Sour', which released in May of 2021, CIA Geffen Records. The album was written by Rodrigo herself as well as her producer, Dan Nigro. Rodrigo surpassed other nominees in the category including Arooj Aftab, Jimmy Allen, Baby Keem, FINNEAS, Glass Animals, Japanese Breakfast, The Kid LAROI, Arlo Parks and Saweetie to win her second award of the night.

Rodrigo is one of the most-nominated artists at this year’s Grammys with over seven nods: record of the year, best pop solo performance and song of the year for “Drivers License”; best new artist, album of the year and best pop vocal album for “Sour”; and best music video for “Good 4 U.” She already has one under her belt, winning best pop solo performance for “Drivers License”.
