Bill Burr gave out the award for Best Tropical Latin Album at the 63rd Grammy Awards on Friday, where he drew criticism on social media over remarks he made while presenting a series of awards at the premiere ceremony. He also presented the award for or best Latin alternative album, best choral performance, best classical instrumental solo performance, best classical vocal album and best classical compendium

As he presented the Best Regional Mexican Music Award, which went to Natalia Lafourcade, Burr mispronounced the singer's name and quickly apologizing for the error, said: "I can't say this name. And the Grammy goes to Natalia Lafourcade. I will accept on behalf of her. If I butchered her name, I'm sorry. Natalia you won. That's it." While presenting the best tropical Latin album, the comedian said "The feminists are going nuts. Why is the cis-White male doing all this Latino stuff." He then continued on to present over half a dozen additional awards without making any jokes.  Here's what we know about Burr's family life.

An angry user commented, "The @RecordingAcad needs to own up to this failure of selecting Bill Burr as a presenter. What a terrible choice. He clearly does not recognize how important this is for artists. If you can't get a presenter who gives a fck how do you expect anyone to take you seriously." Another wrote, "yeah like. it’s just incredibly tasteless for the situation. it would be fine if the recording academy or the Grammys as a whole were the subject of his jokes, but punching down on individual artists to be edgy just… is like an extension of everyday microagressions." A third user wrote, "taika waititi being funnier in 30 seconds than bill burr has been since he came on stage."

Who are Bill Burr's wife and children?

Burr married Nia Renee Hill in 2013. The couple was dating for a long time. Their daughter, Lola, was born on January 20, 2017 following which their son was born in June 2020. The couple resides in Los Angeles. Hill sometimes appears as a guest on Burr's podcast. Hill is an actress. She is known for her work on 'Did You Look for Work This Week?' (2012), 'Lila, Long Distance' (2011) and 'Santa Clarita Diet' (2017), where she plays the role of Leslie. She has also worked in the casting and wardrobe departments of various shows.

On hearing him opine at length on US divorce law and mortgage payments while on the phone from his Los Angeles home with great intensity, The Scotsman was intrigued to discover what changed, when he decided to finally tie the knot with Hill.

“I guess I just had a tremendous fear,” he says of his reluctance to get married. “I’m a control freak.” He said that the West Coast lifestyle obviously suits him, because as he bragged on his podcast recently, “for my age, below the dome, I look phenomenal!” He chuckled about that now, adding: “I’m told I’m middle-aged. But most people … I don’t care how much bran cereal you’re eating, you won’t make it to 90. So I’m talking a lot more about my own safety and mortality.” The comedian says, “I’ve really tried to stop trashing women so much. And maybe deal with some of my issues with them.”

The 2021 GRAMMY Awards show, officially known as the 63rd GRAMMY Awards, took place Sunday, March 14, at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT.
