LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 80th annual Golden Globes are finally here and it’s Ke Huy Quan who takes home the first prize of the night in the form of Best Supporting Actor (Motion Picture) for his impeccable performance in the sci-fi movie ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’. Quan has been a part of the industry for the last 30 years and it’s the first time that the actor was nominated for a Golden Globe.

After appearing in the 2001 movie ‘Second Time Around’, the actor quit acting and became a stunt choreographer. However, after seeing the success of ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ in 2018, Quan decided to come back. At the time, the Daniels were looking to cast Warmond Wang in the movie ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ and saw Quan on Twitter. He auditioned for the part and received the role of Wang.

Quan faced a lot of stiff competition from talented actors like Brendan Gleeson (‘The Banshees of Inisherin’), Barry Keoghan (‘The Banshees of Inisherin’), Brad Pitt (‘Babylon’), and Eddie Redmayne (‘The Good Nurse’).

Quan received a lot of recognition for his role and received a lot of accolades this awards season. He already has won the same trophy from the Gotham Awards, National Society of Film Critics, Los Angeles Film Critics Association, and New York Film Critics Circle.

While accepting the award, Quan said, “When I started my career as a child actor in ‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,’ I felt so very lucky to have been chosen. As I grew older, I started to wonder if that was it, if that was just luck. For so many years, I was afraid I had nothing more to offer. No matter what I did, I would never surpass what I achieved as a kid. Thankfully, more than 30 years later, two guys thought of me. Everything that has happened since has been unbelievable.” He also thanked Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert for giving him this role.

‘EEAAO’ has been one of the well-received movies of 2022 and won several awards during the awards season. The movie has been nominated for five other awards at the Golden Globes, including Best Picture (Comedy/Musical), and is considered to be a frontrunner in all the categories.

Fans were really excited as soon as Quan’s name was announced from the stage and shared extraordinary messages about the actor’s superb win. One of the fans said, “One of the most beautiful awards speeches.. well deserved Quan.” Another fan tweeted, “I love him sooooo much!!!!”

Another social media user wrote, “GAH I cried my eyes out watching this. SO happy for him, can't wait to see more of Ke in more movies!” Another fan tweeted, “One of the best speeches I’ve ever heard. So happy for him.”
