Golden Disc Awards 2021 Winners: BTS, Stray Kids, Twice, Blackpink, here are all K-pop stars who won big

While the first day was to highlight the global digital domination of various K-pop groups, Day 2 focussed on the spectacular physical sales of the K-pop stars worldwide

Golden Disc Awards 2021, one of the most-coveted K-pop award shows, started off on a grand note on January 9 and continued till January 10 to celebrate the best musical achievements by artists in 2020. While the first day was to highlight the global digital domination of various K-pop groups, Day 2 focussed on the spectacular physical sales of the K-pop stars worldwide. From BTS, Blackpink, Stray Kids, GOT7, EXO, Monsta X to IU, ITZY, The Boyz, Treasure, Loona and Enhypen, here are all the groups who won big at GDA 2021.

Day 2 Complete Winners' List (Album Division)

Day 2 or the final day of Golden Disc Awards 2021 awarded the major A-listers of K-pop who have been dominating the global music charts, breaking their own album sale records, and more.

Rookie of the year 



 



 

YG Entertainment’s Treasure, Big Hit Entertainment’s Enhypen and Kim Ho Joong won Rookie of the Year award at the 35th edition of GDA 2021. Treasure debuted in 2020 with their first album ‘The First Step: Chapter One’ and have already made a name for being the Golden Rookie group. Big Hit Entertainment’s seven-member group Enhypen debuted in November 2020 with their first album ‘Border: Day One’. The group who debuted from Big Hit’s reality show ‘I-land’ has charted their first EP at number two on South Korea's Gaon Album Chart and snagged the "Next Leader" award at the 2020 The Fact Music Awards. 

Kim Ho Joong is a classic Trot Singer who made it big in 2020 with the reality show ‘Mr Trot’ where he stood at 4th place and later released a new song 'I Love You More Than Me' in April 2020. 

Album Daesang

BTS won the Album Daesang Award for Map of the Soul: 7 on day 2.

Best Performance



 



 

Dubbed as the Monster rookie group, (G)-Idle and fourth-generation K-pop superstars JYP Entertainment’s Stray Kids who made their name in TIME 2020 Top Songs list won the trophy for Best Performance at Golden Disc Awards 2021. Later, Stray Kids were also seen performing ‘Back Door’, turning up the heat at the GDA 2021 stage.

Cosmopolitan Artist Award



 

SM Entertainment’s NCT 127 took home the trophy for being the most Cosmopolitan Artist in 2020. The sub-unit of NCT, this K-pop act consisting of Taeil, Taeyong (leader), Yuta, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark and Haechan who debuted with their extended play NCT #127 made it big in the last four years, winning the "Best Newcomer" awards from all the prestigious K-pop award shows including Mnet Asian Music Awards, Golden Disk Awards and Seoul Music Awards.

Grammy-nominated, Billboard Hot 100 topping K-pop group BTS were awarded Curaprox Golden Disc Popularity Award. The Group has also won another Bonsang for their record-breaking physical sales.

QQ Music Fan's Choice K-Pop Artist

SM Entertainment’s K-pop super-group EXO won the QQ Music Fan's Choice K-Pop Artist award.

Best OST

Jo Jung Suk's 'Aloha' grabbed the Best OST award in the 35th edition of Golden Disc Awards 2021.



 

Day 1: Winners

The 35th edition of Golden Disc Awards 2021 kicked off on January 9 with the best achievements in digital sales of 2020. Popular girl-group Loona and The Boyz bagged the esteemed 'Next Generation Award' at the 35th Golden Disc Awards on Day 1. Blackpink was the winner of Best Digital Song for 'How You Like That' and Hwa Sa won Bonsang (Digital) at the Golden Disc Awards. Itzy, Red Velvet, Zico, Oh My Girl, Mamamoo and Noel won the Bonsang award on the first day of GDA 2021. 



 

Moreover, BTS and IU also won the Bonsang award. Im Young Woong is taking home the Best Trot Award at the 35th Golden Disc Awards. Monsta X has been declared the Best Group. Meanwhile, Jessi snagged the Best Solo Artist Award. Lee Seung Gi got the award for the Best Ballad. IU is taking home another 'daesang' for 'Blueming'.
