LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Good Morning America’ opened its door to celebrate the union of host Robin Roberts and her partner Amber Laign who will be tying the knot in just a few weeks.

The Wednesday, August 16 broadcast was dedicated to Roberts and Laign’s bachelorette party which had the entire studio up on his feet, dancing and celebrating the couple’s journey over the years.

Whether it was Michael Strahan’s antics of stripping or co-host Tommy Didario’s entrance in a giant cake, the viewers kept the news aside for a while to dive into the celebrations.

However, despite Roberts and Laign’s big moment live on ‘GMA,’ a few fans of the show considered the celebration a “waste.”

‘GMA’ goes all out on Robin Roberts-Amber Laign bachelorette party

It was a bold move for a morning show to devote an entire episode to its host's bachelorette party. But when the host has been on the air for nearly two decades, such a tribute is all too understandable.

Robin Roberts has been at the anchor desk for as long as anyone can remember. She even met Amber Laign after she came to ‘GMA.’ In a way, the morning show turned out to be a charm for Robin.

The morning show recognized Robin’s efforts over the years and decided to throw her bachelorette for ages to remember.

Co-hosts Lara Spencer, Ginger Zee, and Michael Strahan all played their part in making Robin and Amber feel special leading to their big day.

There was a dance performance, a celebration of Amber and Roberts's 18-year-long romantic journey, a giant cake, and a Deals & Steals segment especially discounted for the brides-to-be.

But despite all the positivity and the fun, a few fans of the morning show considered this use of daytime space a complete disappointment. They slammed ‘GMA’ and stripped the morning show for promoting and celebrating the irrelevant story of Amber and Robin.

A few fans who consider themselves to be a purist when it comes to news didn’t appreciate that the daytime show succumbed to the antics of promoting a wedding ceremony of its leading host.

They expressed their anger in turns with the first one commenting, "Why is this news?! Why is this featured as a current event in national news?” while a second said, “Paleeeez quit shoving this down our throats gma.”

A third said, “Waste of a show.” A fourth one remarked, “So sad how this world is becoming. GOD HELP US.

A fifth carried on with, “This is disgusting… who cares,” promoting another to say incorrectly, “ ABC let Amy & TJ go over something like this”

The sentiment across a few factions of viewers wasn’t entirely satisfactory as they hoped ‘GMA’ would rise above such petty instances.
