'Girls': aespa get million sales in first week, predicted to debut at No 3 on Billboard 200

Set to graduate from their rookie era, monster rookies aespa continue to break records and create history in 2022. They became the first girl group with the most pre-orders as ‘Girls’ crossed 1.6 million copies. On its release, ‘Girls’ immediately started topping domestic charts like Bugs, as well as international charts like Worldwide iTunes Album Chart. They also got the highest first-day sales for a girl group with 806k copies and now are predicted to make history for first-week sales along with a Billboard record.

On July 13, Knetizens started congratulating aespa in advance after ‘Girls’ made 83k sales on day 5 alone crossing a total of 982k sales to date. They just require an additional 17k sales in the next day to get 1 million sales even before their first week is over. aespa released their second mini-album ‘Girls’ on July 8 and aim to take over the West as well, as the album made 55k sales in USA. The girl group comes in third following Bad Bunny and Brent Faiyaz which has industry insiders predicting that aespa will debut at #3 on Billboard 200 and top international Billboard album charts.

According to Hanteo chart, aespa had already become the first girl group to cross 900k sales in less than a week. If ‘Girls’ crosses 1 million sales even by July 14, aespa will become the first and fastest girl group to get a million-seller album and highest-first week sales. Additionally, according to chart predictions, aespa can very well be the second-highest girl group on Billboard 200 if ‘Girls’ debuts at #3 on the chart next week.

Update: As of July 14, aespa's 'Girls' has crossed 1 million sales with 1.4M copies sold. They become the first girl group in history to make a million sales in the album's first week and second girl group ever to have a total of million sales for an album.
