UPDATED OCT 15, 2019

PBS's classic children's show 'Ghostwriter' is getting revamped for a spot on Apple TV+, only this time around the show will focus less on Brooklyn kids solving neighborhood mysteries with the help of their haunted book, and more about a bunch of children who work together to put back fictional creatures released by a bookstore back into the books.

It's coming soon!

The new and updated version of the children's classic is set to join the Apple TV+ library on November 1.

It's a new show but with the same DNA

A remake of the namesake series that ran from 1992-1995, the new 'Ghostwriter' is set to take viewers on a journey that is updated for the new generation of children. The official synopsis for the new series reads: "Ghostwriter, a reinvention of the beloved original series, follows four kids who are brought together by a mysterious ghost in a neighborhood bookstore and must team up to release fictional characters from works of literature."

The official teaser trailer for the series, which was released on September 27, shows the four new characters who are prompted by the ghost writer wandering about an abandoned library, reading the messages left by the invisible entity. It is also indicative of the magical nature of the Apple TV + series.

Fresh new talent

The series has cast newcomers  Amadi Chapata, Justin Sanchez, Isaac Arellanes, and Hannah Levinson in starring roles. They star as the only four children who can communicate with the ghost in the bookstore through various mediums that have text and letters. They foursome help the ghost complete his unfinished business and later starts solving mysteries and become close friends in the process.
