The buzz-generating political thriller 'Gaslit' is a retelling of the Watergate scandal that focuses on untold stories and forgotten characters surrounding the events. Based on the podcast 'Slow Burn', the drama focuses on the lesser-known stories around the Watergate scandal. One such story is the collapse of John Mitchell (Sean Penn) and Martha Mitchell's (Julia Roberts) marriage. The previous episodes have depicted their toxic and abusive marriage.

However, ‘Gaslit’ not only focuses on the tumultuous relationship between John (Sean Penn) and Martha Mitchell (Julia Roberts) but also on the relationship between John Dean (Dan Stevens) and Maureen, also known as Mo (Betty Gilpin). Their budding romance plays out against the backdrop of appalling political corruption. In episode 3, we see how the Watergate aftermath complicates their relationship.
