Decked in her signature red-and-blue armor, replete with the shield, sword and the lasso, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman commanded attention right from the moment the iconic comic book character made its big screen debut (in 2016's Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice). In her second solo outing, however, which is the upcoming Wonder Woman 2 movie, the daughter of Hippolyta will once again be rubbing shoulders with mankind against the backdrop of the Cold War. And when she does, expect the Amazon princess to flaunt a costume upgrade, more apt for a post-World War scenario.

The latest update comes following a Warner Bros. presentation at the 2018 Licensing Expo in Las Vegas; where the studio apparently shared some details regarding the Wonder Woman 2 storyboard and costume changes for Gadot's superhero.

"Wonder Woman 2 they explained the tones of the movie and showed some storyboard of art of a new costume for Wonder Woman. They also showed a small preview of what they are trying to do with Cheetah," Twitter user Daniel Eliesen, who was supposedly in attendance, shared online.

Explaining further on what kind of costume update fans can expect for the Amazon warrior, the user added that it would be some sort of battle gear. "Cheetah was literally a tease image based on what they want it to look like. Hard to explain but probably what you think, for WW it’s a battle gear, pretty cool," read the tweet.

Indeed, there was little difference between the costumes worn by Diana Prince as she entered the world of men in the first Wonder Woman film and more recently in Justice League. But for Wonder Woman 2, the setting is moving to the 80's America, where the DC heroine is expected to face off one of her oldest nemesis, Cheetah (played by Kristen Wiig).

"Yes! It’s true. So incredibly lucky to welcome the sensationally talented Kristen Wiig to our Wonder Woman family. Can’t wait to finally work with one of my favorites. And SO excited by what we have planned,” director Patty Jenkins had earlier confirmed via Twitter.

Wonder Woman 2 arrives in theaters on November 1, 2019.
