'That plastic gonna burn': Simon Cowell 'sparks concern' among fans over his appearance on Britain's Got Talent
LONDON, ENGLAND: Simon Cowell once again became the talk of the town after he sparked concern among fans over his appearance on the launch show of the latest season of ‘Britain's Got Talent’ on Saturday, April 11. The 63-year-old television mogul, who has been judging BGT since 2007, made a comeback on the judging panel alongside Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and newcomer Bruno Tonioli.
The BGT boss who recently shed over three stone, kept his look casual as he wore a distressed grey t-shirt with matching jeans. His appearance soon garnered immense social media attention, with many users concerned about his slimmed face. “Simon Cowell's face is more stretched than an NHS A&E department,” one user wrote. “Wtf has Simon Cowell done to his face? #BGT” a second user wrote. While the third said, “Simon Cowell still being able to talk despite having his face pinned back, now that’s a talent.” “If anyone wants Simon Cowell to go away, just hold a lighter close to him. That plastic gonna buuuuuuuurn,” another user wrote.

'What? Simon has a new face?'
During the opening show, Simon insisted he has never had a facelift after Ant & Dec made a cheeky quip about his changing appearance and claimed he has a "new face", according to DailyMail. "We have a new face joining the judging panel," Dec told the audience, to which Ant replied, "What? Simon has a new face?" Simon laughed off the suggestion that he had gone under the knife, despite his drastically altered features. "I think it's hysterical. I mean, it just makes me laugh. I haven't had a facelift or anything," Simon told the Mirror, adding, ‘'I've had a bit of Botox or whatever, but nothing drastic. So when I hear about this stuff, honestly it does make me laugh."

Simon’s changed lifestyle after becoming a father
Simon first sparked concerns about his radically different facial features in December 2022, when he was featured in a promo for British Got Talent. In the now-deleted clip, Simon appeared to have strangely firm and clear skin, pearly white teeth, and almost flawless features that ignited surgery rumors. However, Simon has since shot down rumors regarding his surgery. He recently claimed that he had quit smoking 40 cigarettes every day since becoming a parent. "I'm going to say yes I've quit. I'm vaping so I'm not quite out of the woods, but I don't smoke cigarettes. I have not had a cigarette in about three or four weeks," he told Mirror.
Cowell allegedly lost 20 Ibs in recent years after making a lifestyle shift that included beginning a health and fitness routine. He changed his lifestyle after breaking his back in 2020 when he crashed his electric bike near his Malibu home. He had surgical difficulties that necessitated him to spend most of his time in bed for six months. Simon rearranged his work schedule to ensure he only started business meetings after 9 am rather than hold conferences into the early hours of the morning like he used to.
