Mickey Guyton's fitted cobalt blue gown turns heads at 2022 Super Bowl performance
Country music artist Mickey Guyton, who was the first African-American woman to co-host the ACM Awards, performed the national anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 13. Styled by Memsor Kamarake, Guyton wore a figure-hugging blue gown by Sergio Hudson at the 2022 Super Bowl.
"It's Black History Month, and a black country singer gets to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl. Wow. This is a huge moment for me. It's a huge moment for black people. And I want to represent that in the best possible way that I can. I set my intentions with singing the national anthem. I was like, 'OK, togetherness is what I really want.' So, I felt the way that people would feel togetherness is if I had a choir, with people that I believe represent America. And, you know, I have everybody from my black queen to a redneck cowboy to a girl that has one leg in this choir. And that's the America that I’m proud of — us all standing together. We all belong." Guyton told the New York Post before her performance.

The 38-year-old singer was introduced onto the field as having a "voice of an angel" and was accompanied by a group of backup singers wearing all-white ensembles and a pianist. Guyton's performance was deemed 'refreshing' and was well-recieved and appreciated by the audience.
Post the peformance, Guyton thanked everyone through a post on her Instagram. the caption read, "What a dream. Fans couldn't stop gushing over Guyton's cobalt blue dress. Styled by Memsor Kamarake, her dress was designed by Sergio Hudson. Her white heels were from Kendall Miles, while her loose curls were done by hairdresser Hachoo, and her makeup was done by Emily Gray.
