EXO star Baekhyun is all set to make the new year merrier with a brand new concept of a virtual concert titled  'Beyond Live — Baekhyun: Light' on January 3. For EXO fans aka EXO-Ls, January will be packed with one after another mega performance stages by their favorite K-pop superstars.

First, SM Entertainment’s Culture Live on January 1 will set the mood for the year with a never seen before virtual concert featuring a star-studded K-pop artist lineup including NCT, Red Velvet, Aespa, Kai, Taeyeon, SuperM, SHINee’s Taemin, and more. Baekhyun’s one of a kind virtual live concert will follow suit after that.

What to expect?

Baekhyun has been having the best solo career in 2020 where his sophomore Extended Play ‘Delight’ released this year and sold over 1 million copies, making ‘Delight’ the very first album by a solo artist in South Korea to do so in 19 years. Baekhyun known as the ‘Genius Idol’ has also snagged the Best Male Artist Award in Mnet Asia Music Awards 2020 and ranked as one of the top 10 artists for the Melon Music Awards. Recently in December, he released a festive special single ‘Amusement Park’ which is a tribute to the ‘Citylights’ crooner’s K-pop group EXO.

Baekhyun has also tweeted about an upcoming Japanese album temporarily titled ‘Baekhyun’ which is likely to be released in 2021. Baekhyun’s Beyond Live will surely contain the 28-year-old’s best of the hit tracks coupled with his magical vocals.

Concept

According to SM Entertainment, this unique virtual concert ‘Beyond Live’ aims to close the gap of the distance between the artists and their fans. Designed exclusively to make the concert experience unique, “it presents diverse stages that combine dynamic performances, stage production with advanced AR technology and real-time 3D graphics, differentiated camera works and interactive communication through live video calls between artists and global fans." 

To add its exclusive quirks to the concert, Beyond Live will also be the first concert in the world “to offer Sync Play service that synchronizes the fanlight with the live stream concert in real-time connecting the online and the offline which provides maximum fan experience to enjoy the concert and cheer on together." 

The virtual concert promises a new “era of performance culture that transcends the existing online streamed format of offline concerts".

'Beyond Live — Baekhyun: Light'  will take place on Sunday, January 3, 3 pm KST.

Baekhyun, as one of the more famous K-pop idols of Korea, enjoys a global fanbase. The singer recently teased his fans stating that he has been practicing different types of choreography to surprise EXO-LS. A fan said on Twitter, “Me remembering that i might see baekhyun underwater live performance soon.” Another fan replied to Baekhyun’s tweet where the singer asked whether his fans liked the new song ‘Amusement park’ or not saying, “Yes baby, it is beautiful, its vibe is so matching to the season.
