Like many other award ceremonies in 2020 which had to be conducted virtually due to the ongoing pandemic, the American television awards, 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards 2020 is currently being held in the presence of celebrities form their respective homes. While Jimmy Kimmel is serving as the host for the much-anticipated event, Emmys 2020 was graced by none other the ‘Ozark’ star Jason Bateman, who made a special appearance.

Due to the coronavirus-induced restrictions, the ceremony had to go on in the absence of an in-person audience. But, to make it more appealing to the viewers, as Kimmel showed, cut-outs of celebrities had been placed next to one another in an empty theatre. However, seated amid them was Jason Bateman, who has been nominated under the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his hit Netflix series 'Ozark’.

He and Kimmel engaged in a friendly conversation, after which the hosts asked the actor to exit the venue jokingly while talking about social distancing. However, before making an exit, the actor placed a cardboard cutout of himself from when he was a teen, implying that he never ages, although on a funny note. Besides the top nomination, Bateman will also be seen presenting awards to the winners from various categories.

Bateman’s cameo during the Emmys undeniably added an edge to the award ceremony as viewers seemed to have been swept off their feet on watching the ever-talented celebrity show himself during the virtual event when the majority of the stars are taking part in Emmys 2020 from their homes.

Soon ‘Ozark’ and Bateman fans took to Twitter to express their opinion about the actor gracing their television screens during television’s most-awaited awards. A significant number of them are clearly swooning over him. One excited fan wrote, "Everyone talking about the cutouts around jason bateman but lets talk about HIM for a second". Another added, "Seeing jason bateman at the emmys has been the highlight of my life"

Meanwhile, a fan, who seems to be highly impressed with Bateman's charm and cameo, tweeted, "Jason Bateman, you can come over to my house. #Emmys" Seconding her tweet one user noted, "Jason Bateman pretending to be a cardboard cutout at the #Emmy awards is a whole 2020 mood. Perfect timing especially since he deserves many of them."
