Who is Emma Caroline? Alabama singer on 'The Voice' says dad's military job pushed her into writing songs
Country singer Emma Caroline was one of the contestants of blind auditions on episode three of ‘The Voice’ Season 20 and it is safe to say she absolutely nailed her performance on Kacey Musgraves’ ‘Slow Burn’. Decked up in a gorgeous attire for her performance, she clearly showed the judges how good she is with country music.
Since Blake Shelton is a country legend, all eyes were on him whether he will show interest in turning around or not and well, he did not disappoint the viewers as he was the very first one to press the buzzer and turn his big red chair around. Kelly Clarkson, who is very choosy when it comes to picking contestants on ‘The Voice’, did not waste her time to turn around as she was seen thoroughly enjoying Caroline’s soulful performance. John Legend and Nick Jonas, however, seemed less impressed with the country singer as they did not turn their respective chairs around at all.

Who is Emma Caroline?
The Tuscaloosa, Alabama, native surely got the attention of Blake and Kelly as they tried their best to convince the talented crooner to join their team whereas, the fellow coaches Legend and Jonas pushed Caroline to pick Kelly as her coach for the rest of ‘The Voice’ journey. Legend told Caroline, “I think Nick and I were probably a little hesitant to turn cause we knew once Blake turned that there was probably no chance that you would do anything as daring as picking someone other than Blake.” He joked, “This show rewards artistry and independence… If you want to go the safe route, pick Blake.”
While trying to convince Caroline, Blake said, “I’m so excited because you bring something that we don’t get to see that often. You have more of a mountain-sounding voice, which I love by the way. I disagree with it being an old lane cause I think she’s kind of created a new spot in country music and people are so attracted to that, you know and I think you can do something like that too. Country music has been my life since I was 14, 15 years old and now what’s exciting for me is to find new young talent. I would be honored to be your coach.” After much deliberation, Emma Caroline admitted it was “such a hard choice” but ultimately she picked Blake as her coach. While speaking about herself, the 25-year-old crooner revealed, “My dad is a military helicopter pilot, and he was deployed when I was in third grade. And since then, he's been in Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and other places. It was pretty difficult growing up without him there, just because we're super close. But it pushed me into writing songs.”
‘I got goosebumps multiple times’
Looks like not only Blake and Kelly were left impressed with Caroline’s performance but social media users too sang songs of her praises. One user stated, “Emma Caroline has definite Carrie-potential vibes -- so many country artists in all the US-based talent shows so far this year! #TheVoice” Another added, “Emma Caroline instantly shows that she has it. Beautiful, distinct tone and interesting vocal approach. She knows her way around a lyric with sweetness and a Slow Burn. #TheVoice #VoiceBlinds” The next one asserted, “I got goosebumps multiple times. Her voice is so pretty!” One person concluded, “Beautiful song, think she's the winner so far!”
