Eminem surprises fans with new album 'Kamikaze': Listen
In this album President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, the Grammy Awards and the press also get called out by the rapper for their responses to 'Revival'.
Eminem is on a roll and seems like he is in a hurry to let fans know what he has been up to. The rapper's last album, 'Revival', was released in 2017 eight months ago. Giving his fans a glimpse into who all he has collaborated with in this album is the cover which mentions names like Joyner Lucas, Royce DA 5"9, Jessie Reyez and Paul Rosenberg.
There are 13 songs in this surprise album of his and right at the end of it is the Venom soundtrack which he teased on Instagram earlier. With a runtime of 45 minutes, the album seems intriguing. It could be seen as his attempts at 'giving back' after the mixed reactions that 'Revival' garnered.
Catching us right off the bat is the album art which shows the illustration of a tail of a jet and on the front, you have the aircraft smashing on impact. Fans will notice that the jet looks quite similar to the one on the Beastie Boys' 'Licensed to Ill' album cover.
There is also a lot name dropping in this album. He references artists, including Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Tyler, the Creator, Lil Xan, Die Antwoord, and more. This is referenced in “Paul (Skit),” where his manager Paul Rosenberg leaves the rapper a voicemail telling him that he’s listened to the new album and was wondering whether he was "really going just to deride everybody who, you don’t like what they have to say about you or the stuff you’re working on? I don’t know if that’s really a great idea, it’s like what’s next, ‘Kamikaze 2?"
And it seems like the flavor of the season President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, the Grammy Awards and the press also get called out by the rapper for their responses to 'Revival'. Eminem's previous album was panned by some critics as 'the worst album of his career'.
