A tweet shared on Monday, February 7 has left netizens calling Rep. Elissa Slotkin a 'hypocrite'. This Democrat from Michigan posted a selfie where she was maskless but the people around her had their masks on. Slotkin had captioned the picture by saying, "Another successful Snow Boots on the Ground event in Owosso! Thank you to everyone who came out despite the frigid temperatures. (My selfie skills also seem to be improving so my team actually let me post this one!)."

As she mentioned in the caption, her selfie angle or skills were not the cause of concern here. It was the fact that Slotkin was flaunting her smile despite Covid restrictions while her supporters were fully-masked

Denise Richards slammed, called 'moron' for not wearing mask on flight and BOASTING about it

While some were slamming Slotkin virtually, others came to her defense. This comes after Stacey Abrams' outrage where Abrams was seen smiling without a mask on, whereas the kids seated in close proximity had their faces covered with face masks. She swiftly took down that viral image. The Chair of the Republican National Committee Ronna McDaniel took to Twitter and called Slotkin "another Democrat hypocrite" and she retweeted Slotkin's photo. After this, Jamaal Bowman was also caught maskless

Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York, who is Slotkin's House colleague on the Republican side also reshared the tweet and said, "Democrats' mask mandate hypocrisy continues." Richard Grenell, Donald Trump's former acting director of National Intelligence, questioned why the younger audience had to keep their faces covered. He said, "Why are the kids masked while you get to breathe normally?" Another authority figure Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' spokeswoman Christina Pushaw tweeted, "Elissa why arenโ€™t you afraid of COVID?"

Activist Scott Presler shared Stacey Abrams' deleted image and said, "Iโ€™m noticing a theme."

A user said, "Wear your mask in photos, please. The optics are bad on these maskless shots. We are still in the thick of the pandemic and all others in the photo are masked. Messaging matters."

Comedian Tim Young said, "Make sure the people beneath you wear masks right? Because you're better than them... keep them in their place."

A person had a very different view and said, "Perhaps she took the damn mask off for the second it took to take this photo."
