Jamaal Bowman caught maskless at high school after Stacey Abrams slammed for hypocrisy
Rep Jamaal Bowman, D-NY, was photographed at a New York high school without a mask despite being one of the many who have kept urging people to keep wearing masks. This ‘caught-red-handed’ photo is trending in NY city after the backlash Stacey Abrams received over the weekend. Additionally, there were also other politicians who failed to follow Covid-19 protocols and are now buzzing on the internet.
According to a local newspaper, the photo was shot during Bowman's visit to New Rochelle High School on Monday, January 31, where he was visiting the students and discussing a recent homicide in the community. Despite the state's demand that masks be worn at all times in public schools, Jamaal, a Democratic legislator, failed to do it while all the students were masked-up. The photo was released as a part of the City School District of New Rochelle newsletter, which involuntarily gave New Yorkers an insight into how a Democratic rep is out there not taking the Covid-19 situation seriously.

The ironic part is that right after this picture of Jamaal grinning from ear to ear, he tweeted on Thursday, February 3, saying, “Even though daily COVID-19 cases are decreasing, we must stay vigilant. Make sure to mask up, stay safe, and get boosted. We must protect our elderly and immunocompromised community members.”
Jamaal’s tweet upset many Twitter users who slammed him. One Twitter user said, "Make sure to follow your own advice and rules, sir. It's a pretty bad look to make others around you mask up while you yourself are not masked.”

Meanwhile, Mayor Eric Adams was slammed on Sunday for not wearing a mask at an indoor institution. An Instagram post by Bronx Little Italy highlighted how the important people of New York were not wearing masks at a public spot.
The post read, “The Belmont [Business Improvement District] hosted @nycmayor, NYC Council Members, @nycsmallbiz, and @thenycalliance to Arthur Avenue to meet with our restaurateurs and the difficulties the industry is facing.” Along with Eric Adams, Stacey Abrams also provoked Twitter user by sharing a photo of herself without any mask while surrounded by dozens of kids at an Atlanta elementary school. Though she deleted the post, Twitter users couldn’t stop terming her as the “mask fascist”.
