K-pop group Kep1er has had a pretty rough start to their K-pop journey all thanks to Covid-19. Initially, it was their debut that was pushed back time after time due to multiple positive cases among staff members as well as members of the group. After Kep1er members were finally able to make their debut in the music industry with their debut mini-album ‘First Impact’ with the lead single ‘WA DA DA’, it seemed like all was going well for the group who were manifesting their first ‘Rookie of the Year’ award as they revealed in their interview with The Star Magazine.

As South Korea is experiencing a massive wave of Covid cases since January of 2022, more than 45 K-pop idols have reported testing positive for the virus. Now, Choi Yujin and Kim Dayeon of Kep1er have become the latest members to join the list of Covid-19 positive idols. On February 4, Wake One and Swing Entertainment, the labels that manage the Mnet ‘Girls Planet 999’ group announced that on the day the two formerly Covid-19 positive members of Kep1er had recovered from the virus, two new members of the group tested positive.
