Dua Lipa's 'Club Future Nostalgia' fails to woo fans as they call it 'the worst remix album ever'
Dua Lipa has released her highly-anticipated remix album 'Club Future Nostalgia' but the reception from fans may not be what you would expect. Lipa teased the new remix LP early August with its cover art.
Future Nostalgia, the original version released in March, is a retro-inspired disco-pop album that took inspiration from artistes such as Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Jamiroquai, Blondie and Olivia Newton-John among others. The remix rendition 'Club Future Nostalgia' takes the original album's 11 tracks, which have been remixed by a host of top remixers and producers such as Mark Ronson, Horse Meat Disco, Masters at Work and Mr Fingers and featuring collaborations and contributions from Madonna, BLACKPINK, Stefani, Jamiroquai, Missy Elliot, and Neneh Cherry and more and adds three new tracks all seamlessly mixed by The Blessed Madonna.
Regardless of the musical heavyweights who contributed to the album, fans aren't impressed with its sound. Many comments have been harsh, to say the least. "Club future nostalgia might be the worst remix album i have ever listened to. it's atrocious," said one fan while another wrote, "The way club future nostalgia won’t even enter billboard 200, literally no one is going to buy it."

Meanwhile, other fans put out a few humorous tweets as well. "The way dua released one of the best female albums this year AND the worst female album with club future nostalgia... the versatility," wrote one fan.

Some fans are saying that The Blessed Madonna is to blame. One fan says, "The blessed Madonna sabotaged Club Future nostalgia production for smile I think?" referring to Katy Perry's new album 'Smile' which releases on August 28.

Loyal fans, however, have been quick to fire back at the cold remarks. One fan said, "Reminder club future nostalgia is songs that are remixed for CLUBS!!!!!!! not radio or listening normally so before u drag just try imagine where you might listen to it and you might enjoy a lot better," While another shared, "Y’all are hating on club Future Nostalgia and think that Dua ruined FN with it when it’s actually a smart move... The album is made to please people who like club songs (hence the club in the title) and for it to be played in clubs which will make more people listen to it..."

Needless to say, whether its style or sound isn't something you are used to or expect, as some fans have pointed out, the album requires a club atmosphere and it is best to keep an open mind before judging. Some of the greatest albums in the history of music have often required a moment of non-judgemental thought or at least a second listen before being realized as catchy.
